I agree it is a great program and I would support it if I played my ps3 more but do not call that free content.....you are paying for it. That would be like me saying Xbox Multiplayer gaming is free.

Well, after a certain amount of "free" or discounted content that you download you reach a value of money saved to access that content equal to the amount you paid. As such, you can consider any further content free.

In the end, it's all a matter of semantics, and I don't much care how someone characterizes it as it's still a tremendous value if you use it a lot.

Splinter Cell Conviction. Beat a mission of Hunter (which is basically 5 zones of killing all the bad guys) without being detected. I tried and tired, but kept getting spotted with some bullshit scenarios.

I have never understood this. Is it because I play with mostly the same 2 or 3 people? I don't play online a ton either way, so I always figured that that was part of it, although I never really "rated" other players either, and I have friends who play less than me but have 5 stars...

You probably dont have a lot of feedback. Like if you had two 5 star ratings and some joker rated you a 2 star rating... youll probably even out at 3.

Eh, I think you're improperly pushing aside what all PS+ gives. Your comparison is pretty bad too, because unlike with Xbox Live you actually get full games for free on PSN if you're a + member. On XBL you pay for the service, AND never get ANYTHING for free.

Between Awesomenauts, Stacking, all of the Sonic games, FF V, Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo HD, Tomb Raider Underworld, and Trine 2...just off of the top of my head, that makes up for the $50 bucks a year. That is free content, because it is content you couldn't get anywhere else without paying for it.

This is exactly what I meant. You are paying essentially the same amount (technically $10 cheaper on PS3) for PS+ as someone on Xbox pays for Live. With that Plus subscription you get TONS of games at no extra charge and discounts on other games. Whereas on Live you are paying just to play online. That's it. If you want to really grasp you can say that Live Gold also entitles you to the weekly deals (which have been shitty as well as of late) so the discounts you get with Plus kind of balance out with those sales. But then you still have all of the FREE content.

And like Pad said, any value I get after $50 is free, no matter how you slice it.

I look at it more this way. When you buy a game at Best Buy and it comes with a FREE gift card, is that gift card free? Technically no, because you had to buy the game to get it. But you were buying the game anyway so the gift card is a bonus. It's the same with Plus. I know I'll spend $50/year on content from PSN easily so getting hundreds of extra dollars is in fact FREE.

It's harder for you to see the value because you hardly every play your fucking PS3. Yet you constantly argue about how Xbox Live is so cheap. Sure it is, but you aren't paying for anything but the ability to play the games you already paid money for online.

I was not comparing this to xbox live.....not sure why you are. There is no way you can say it is free.......it just is not.

The achievements are nice goals for me in a game. Gives me that little extra incentive to play on hard, and I get to bra about beating certain games on hard with proof. The real question would be why is yours so low?

Let's also not forget the Pavlovian sound it makes. I swear, MS is fucking cruel for making all notifications make the same damn sound. I can't even guess how many times I accomplished something that seemed cheevo worthy in a game, get the pop noise, and it's just some notification that one of my fucking friends has signed on to XBL. :smh:

Bulletstorm is rife with those damn moments because you're constantly pulling off insane kills that would be achievements in most games. Everytime it pops I get a little excited, and then am crushed.
