Yeah but Sabathia is 300 pounds and he was still throwing in the mid 90's, I don't see it as an issue at all.

uh, wouldn't his weight only contribute to the likelihood of him slowing down? not prove that he won't?

I think peavy isn't as great as a pitcher as he's made out to be. He usually never throws past the 6th or 7th inning of any game, and he's already nearing 100 pitches by the 5th, and its not like the yankees have a great bullpen

actually the yankees had one of the better bullpens in the begining of the season. either way getting CC or peavy will help the yankees. i dont think they will lose them games, but the price is different for the two of them. its probably a better deal to spend the money on CC then trade away young talent for peavy.

FWIW, I figured out that Peavy's ERA when he plays at AL Ballparks, so against the AL, but not at home is 3.92, but that's only in 8 games, which inculded games agains Sea, Sea, TB where he allowed no runs (22 innings) and a shelacking by the Royals where he allowed 8 (3 innings)

yeah, that's why I mentioned that, I was just saying for what its worth

but I have to disagree that stats are a pretty good indicator, if someones ERA is a point higher on the road than at home, I think that is telling you something

I can't stand how some baseball fans can't stand the Yankees because they have more money than their home team and are able to get top shelf free agents

Certainly not jealous considering Boston is on par with New York in acquiring top talent.

The reason I'm not as big a baseball fan in other sports is because teams have a considerable advantage over others in different sports. Yes, small market teams have won the World Series, but consistent success is easier for certain teams because they can flat out buy their way to a .500 or better record.

I have heard that he will probably not sign with the yanks as he wants to stay on the west coast or in the NL but I am not 100 percent sure. I forgot where I heard it from though.

The Yankees so far have offered him the most money, but his ideal location is on the west coast
