I really don't understand the point of the thread. Cruz isn't being screwed here. If anything he wins because he's only paying tax on $40k.

I think Zuffa is pretty generous on payouts. They toss a lot of money around when they really don't have to. Of course some guys think they are underpaid, of course some will complain. That's human nature. Everyone thinks they're underpaid.

Todd Duffee is a fool. Now he works for a company that doesn't even pay you at all half the time. If you keep your mouth shut and just win fights, you will get rich in the UFC.
 
When Cruz starts drawing more money he'll get a bigger payout. Hes getting there. Surprised Faber only made that tho.

with the FOTY of course he made over 6 figures, that's a given, the point is this guy is a champ of the TOP MMA ORG IN THE WORLD and he has to fight for bonus money to make it. With injuries this year, etc...he has fought once this year, of course that's the nature of the sport, but he is a champ

Cruz isnt a big time sponsered guy, Faber probably make 5 tims as much from sponsers than Cruz

He made 40k with a win, his base is 20k, he is fighting for bonus money as the champ
 
why wouldnt Cruz pay tax on his FOTY money? It's reported and like everyone else bonus miney is taxed, actually higher than normal wages

I see where you are coming from, but its not as if the guy is taking home scraps. At the end of the day, he is banking good money all told.

As far as all main eventers getting a piece of ppv, I'm almost positive I read that somehwere months ago. I won't swear on it, I could be wrong, but I'll try to find it.

He's still fighting on his original WEC contract. When it comes due, if he's still the champion, he'll get his raise.

Sure it would be swell of the UFC to make sure all their champions get a high base pay but I'm positive they all take home a fair amount at the end of the day.

Yes and No.

They all get a cut, but some get a greater cut and some have the specific cut in their contracts (the minority) and most don't.

I asked someone who would know, and he gave an answer.

All the guy does is report news, I dont know how on earth you have this negative perception. He is critical of Zuffa all the time in the newsletter, like when they put the wrong fights together, and he always digs through the BS and reports the embarrassing number of comps w/"real" attendance, etc. I think he covers everyone fair but we've done this a million times. You dont like anyone unless they bash Zuffa 100% which is kinda ironic, no?
