My work-study boss (RMU's SID) has Rickey Henderson memorabilia all through his office, it's pretty awesome. I've always been a fan of his as well.

Sounds exactly like my cousin. He was naturally right-handed but forced himself to bat left-handed so he was more like Griffey.

I hated Von Hayes. To me he represented what was wrong with those pitiful Phillies teams in the mid to late 80's. Although the name Lance Parrish makes me want to thow myself into traffic.

Call me sappy or whatever, but, my Grandfather, Tony Cuccinello Sr.

My father also played. Turned down a scholarship from Duke to sign with the Cleveland Indians. He never made it to the big-league level though. Just didn't have enough of a bat. But he could still get into a batting cage in his fifties and crank 'em out in the 80-90 mph cage. It was crazy. I still have some of his signed contracts and things like that.

Anyway, my grandfather was a pretty damn good player. Played in the league's first all-star game in 1933 as a member of the Brooklyn Dodgers. Here is his BR.com page if anyone is interested.
