[ALL] Your First Video Game?

What was the very first game you ever owned? Was thinking about that today and all the memories I had.

My very first game:

My parents got me Indianapolis 500: The Simulation for Christmas when I was a little kid. It was an IndyCar sim for the PC that was released in 1989 by Papyrus. I remember playing this ALL the damn time. It was almost impossible to win too. I remember the ONLY time I ever won a race was when I ran the track backwards and crashed every single car lol. Yeah, it was that difficult lol. It's pretty much the first racing game that differentiated itself from the arcade racers to the true simulations.

Pretty cool how much stuff was available in a sim-racer this old. You could adjust how much fuel you wanted, your front and rear wing, what type of tires you wanted, shocks, gears, etc.

Btw, this is also the same people that currently develop and run iRacing.

My brother had Intellvision and a ton of games then colecovision. He used to make him play him in all the sports games and kick my ass...then i would get pissed, then I would practice, then he would still kick my ass. :bryant:

I got NES for XMAS and got SMB and went to Kmart with Xmas money. I bought Kid Icarus based on box art....lucky guess.

Kid Icarus is a hard game...took me weeks to beat it as a kid. Those fucking eggplant lords....ahhh! Medusa was easy though.

I didn't get started on gaming as early in the video game cycle as some of you. My first systems were PS1 and the 64.

I'm pretty sure it was Lode Runner, which was on some kind of PC way back in the day. It was such a big deal when my elementary school got computers and I think the only game they had on it was Lode Runner. Besides the actual school work we had to do (this was like second grade) we would get like thirt minutes to just mess around on the computer and I was just spend the entire time playing that game. I think all you did was use the arrow keys to control the character.

Oh, my bad.

Hmm, it would have to be something on the Atari 2600. Probably either plain ol' Football (in which you could cheat and run your defender in the oppsoite direction and he would pop out on the other side of the screen to tackle the runner, and there were only two teams; red and blue LOL) or Grand Prix. I remember always pronouncing that game Grand Pricks because I was a dumb kid.
