Let's be honest, Rex Ryan's job is on the line.

You're Rex Ryan and it's your job to decide who has a better chance of saving it RIGHT NOW.

Tebow or Sanchez.

Just saying this year. Not asking for the long-term implications of this decision.

Some things.

1- No, Rex's job is not on the line. Just stop.

2- Short term success means nothing. While Tebow MAY be a better option right now, that's only because we don't have any good players at the skill positions. Tebow doesn't need any tight ends or wide receivers to rely on since he'll be running or handing the ball off a majority of the time.

3- If Rex had to "save" this season, he would keep Sanchez BUT play Tebow more. There's no reason Tebow can't come in more on 3rd and close yardages, he's capable of making the short 5-10 yard throws and/or running the ball for the 1st.

There's no right answer. Sanchez is bottom two in completion % and qb rating. Which is right where Tebow was last year. And this d isn't good enough to carry a shitty qb through the whole season.

I agree he's hardly the prototype QB, but he's a winner.

He inspires teammates, he makes plays when they have to be made.

Why the hell not?

It's not like Sanchez is a franchise QB. He's average at best.

I can't see Rex being let go, who would we hire? Someone from in-house? I don't see that fixing anything. I think the front office knows that as well.

Our line is good, we have a top center and a good left tackle, our guards could be better however. We just let go out Connor since he was injured. Our wide receivers are some of the worst in the league, Keller injured at te, Shonn Greene playing soft for a majority of the season. Offensively, we could scrap everyone but mangold, Fergs, and Tebow. Tebow since he's a unique weapon only, he's not starting material. Hill is also a rookie and showed flashes of starting caliber play, he might be good enough to stick around.

This always was a defense first minded team. Shame since once Revis got hurt, the writing was on the wall for this team. We're not doing anything this season, besides effecting our draft position.

Win or lose, I don't see this being an important season for Rex. With the Revis injury among all the injuries among the offensive players.

I don't know what direction this team needs to take, I'm not the gm/coach so I don't know what trades are possible or which route to take, but I hope they have a better sense of this team than me.

Rex Ryan is a loudmouthed goof, but he's also a damn good coach. Honestly, I have no clue who they'd hire to replace him.

It worked in denver because they had the talent and coaching to implement it in a way that would allow tebow to be a success. The jets dont have the talent to run a standard running game let alone allow tebow to do anything positive.

That's been where I come down on the situation. Sanchez is visibly struggling to make something happen on offense. The least they could do is try to just get the ball to Tebow in space out of the slot or something. The guy is a good football player, he's just not a traditional NFL pocket passing QB. Belichick would trade for him tomorrow and something tells me he would be able to figure out a way to leverage Tebow's talent.

Read options are hardly "student body left/right". Are you trying to say Denver was running power sweeps with Tebow?

The Jets offensive coordinator is the guy who brought the wildcat to the NFL (Tony Sporano). The Jets also have a couple of very talented offensive lineman. I'm not seeing how Denver had some sort of massive edge on the Jets in the coaching or talent department when it comes to being able to utilize Tebow's skill set.

I guess you don't remember all of those deep balls Tebow completed last season when teams tried this.

Anyway, the biggest areas in my opinion that the Jets have failed to exploit with Tebow are short yardage and inside the 10. Tebow is a powerful runner who is hard to tackle. The few times the Jets have used him in short yardage, it's worked.

Tebow is also a very dangerous goal line weapon, but the Jets have been hesitant to use him in this capacity, and it makes no sense.

The only way the Jets could mismanage there offense any further was if they hired Jason Garrett.
Tebow should be on the field a hell of alot more than he has been. Its a waste.
