Favorite artist/band: Future of the Left - no new music but some great live shows, unexpected line-up changes and the discovery that Falco is a cricket fan.
Most surprising artist/band: El May - a genuinely nice person in an industry of egos.
Most disappointing artist/band: The Pipettes - time to retire that band now ladies.
Artist/band that grew on you: The Twilight Sad

I think the past little while has made me a certifiable Kanye fanboy. I'm eagerly awaiting Big Boi's next release. I expected big things from TI and Wayne coming out of jail... BUT, I didn't care as much about Wayne... Admittedly, Right Above It is okay as ringtone rap/radio music.

As far as TI, I didn't like the singles I heard from No Mercy, though I'll probably give "Welcome to the World" a listen since Kanye and Cudi are on it. I'm not saying he's terrible or anything, but I expected some sort of conceptual change after going to prison... Idk. I haven't really given much of No Mercy a chance - I just feel apathetic toward him. Maybe that's what I'm disappointed in.

Also, I heard DMX was dropping an album. Incidentally, it did actually happen. But I've heard nothing from anyone about it.

Super-disappointed in Drake, but whatever. I can't say anything that hasn't already been said.

Also, I finally buckled about Budden. I still don't find him to be anything amazing, but he's certainly a good musician. Better than most cats.

I'm surprised I'm not the only person that has Eminem as disappointing/overrated on their lists. Not that I need to bash him any more than I have or anything, I'm just not a fan.

I'm not a J. Cole or Wiz fanboy, but I can see why people love them. And I like them.

Most disappointing artist/band: Cassidy (You used to be dope, but you don't have it anymore Cass. Compared to everyone else, your punchlines lack, well, punch. Was hard to listen to him at times.)

Artist/band that grew on you: J. Cole (I really started paying attention to him late. Dude has beats and bars and I now go out of my way to check for his music.)

Artist/band you can't see the hype about: Nicki Minaj (she's terrible to me but I guess when you the only rapper chick out, you win by default. I came up on a different type of rap than most of you younger dudes tho so :kanye:)

Favorite album: Nas & Damian Marley: Distant Relatives

Most surprising album: Joell Ortiz: Free Agent (technically this doesn't drop until next year, but I've been banging this album non-stop. While he may not be for everybody, I've always been a fan of Ortiz.

Most disappointing album: Lloyd Banks Hunger For More (Hit or miss album to me. I expected much better considering how hard Banks came this year on his freestyles. Also having the God awful Tony Yayo on your album gets points deducted.
