YOUR Top 10 Games of the Year

I compiled my list of top games over at Giant Bomb. I had 22 games but my Top 10, in order are:

1) Uncharted 2
2) Borderlands
3) Assassin's Creed 2
4) inFamous
5) Killzone 2
6) Batman: Arkhamn Asylum
7) Ratchet & Clank: A Crack in Time
8) New Super Mario Bros. Wii
9) GTA: Chinatown Wars
10) Red Faction Guerilla

I was actually pretty surprised that MW2 didn't even make my list but I guess it makes sense because the game didn't do anything new to me.

A few other notables are Zelda: Spirit Tracks, Forza 3, Scribblenauts, Brutal Legend and House of the Dead: Overkill. There were only a few games that I never got to or have seen played like Dead Space: Extraction and Demon's Souls that may have made the list.

MW2 snuck in at the end there just because there isn't much left for me that I would consider top 10 worthy. As I've said before to Twigg, I totally agree. It just felt like more of the same, only this time the singleplayer stunk and the multiplayer isn't even fun anymore.

I don't really have anymore to list.
NBA and Tiger are the games I play the most.
Madden would be #3 ... but only because I'm an NFL fanatic. Madden does not belong on any "best of" lists other than "best of" disappointments.

3) Episodes from Liberty City (GTA 4 expansion)

I think that's about all the games I've played this year.

Only bought games for 360 and 1 Wii game. Only Judging the games I played also.

10) Fight Night Round 4- Liked the game from the start, but the online aspect of the game did not last long for me.

9) Madden 10- I still compare Madden to the PS2 games and once it reaches that level, it will never be the "Best" Madden.

8) Shadow Complex- Good XBLA game but I didn't feel it was as good as it could have been. Too much searching around for objects and not enough big boss battles.

7) Splosion Man- Short but fun XBLA platforming game. There arne't many of these games on the 360, and this one is one of the best even though its an XBLA game. If the multiplayer worked better it would have been higher.

6 Battlefield 1943- Very fun XBLA and PSN game when it came out. There were no games really when this came out so everyone bought this and had fun. If it had any DLC what so ever it would be higher.

5) Resident Evil 5- Great RE game when playing with a friend online, people who never played RE games didn't like it so what. If you were a fan of the other games you had no problems with this one.

4) New Super Mario Bros. Wii- Great game, fun with other people as well brings back the old school Mario feel. I didn't finish the game yet and it's already my #4 game. If you liked every other Mario game from the NES and SNES this is a must buy.

3) NHL 10- Coming off the best sports game IMO it would be tough for NHL 10 to improve. They did but not that much, there are still problems with the game and features that should be in that aren't. Still with the flaws its the best sports game of 09.

2) Modern Warfare 2- MW2 what to say about this, first off it's not better then COD4 let's get that out of the way. The single player was a fucking good time but too short like everyone has said. The spec ops is ok I guess but I don't like the way they put it in the game. Multiplayer this is why you buy MW2 well it was fun the first week. Then the glitches come, the un balanced weapons, the over done crowded maps, and some over powered "kill streaks". They fixed some problems but the feel of the multiplayer is not the same as COD4 that's why its my #2 game of 09.

1) Batman: Arkham Asylum- Never expected this game to be the best of 09. I did think the game looked sick in some of the trailers I saw but I though eh it's a trailer. My brother bought this game and I never played it till abouth a month after it came out, and I don't know why I waited a month to do so. the story the charters the fighting is crazy good and a fun time. The art and graphics to the game is some of the best I've seen yet. The challenges modes as well they have in here are good and some are really hard. Great stealth action game if that makes sense. Top game of 09 Batman: Arkham Asylum.

I see that quite a few people have Shadow Complex and other download games on their lists. I think we should have a separate list for those. Shadow Complex would definitely be my #1 but there were a lot of great download titles this year. I'm hooked on Pixel Junk Shooter right now.

Your #3 game of the year is a game that you haven't even played much? Odd. I mean, it's a great game and a good choice, I just would not personally put a game that I hadn't played as much as I had seen others play it in my top 10 (or 7, in your case).

If I had a Wii, I'd buy Tiger in a heartbeat. That shit looks fun.
