Ok, I thought Lesnar beat Mir twice. Then again, I have only been following the UFC since January and UFC 94.

Thanks for following though. I would put this in the 'chise section, but, it doesn't fit into any of the sub-forums over there. I am doing some stuff today, but, hopefully I can get a UFC 101 card together.

EDIT: Went ahead and fixed it as well. Amazing what a little internet research can do - lol.

St-Pierre V Hughes IV Set for UFC 104 - Additional Future Matches Announced

Georges St-Pierre and Matt Hughes will face-off in the Octagon for the 4th time at UFC 104

UFC President Dana White made several key announcements today regarding future UFC bouts and locations of future PPV dates. White's first announcement was in regards to the return of welterweight Matt Hughes:

"As you all know, Matt Hughes re-upped with the UFC for a multi-fight deal. Matt is a tremendous competitor and a proven warrior in the Octagon. Because of his appeal and his high-level of skill we feel that we have a very exciting Main Event for UFC 104: St-Pierre versus Hughes four!" White said via web-conference.

A location and date has yet to be determined for the event, however, White expects that the match will garner a lot of interest as it is the last time the two will fight each other in the Octagon.

White also announced three additional matches for future UFC PPV's. They include:

        - Tyson Griffin V Sean Sherk at UFC 102

        - Anderson Silva (title holder) V Demian Maia for the Middleweight championship at UFC 102

        - Lyoto Machida (title holder) V Forrest Griffin for the Light Heavyweight championship at UFC 103

        Future Venues:

UFC 102: Staples Center Los Angeles, CA

UFC 103: St. Pete Times Forum Tampa, FL

Florian will fall and Penn will remain the champion too easy...
Quite possible. I may be moving up to "expert" soon for the PPV bouts. The last PPV, the fighter I controlled won 4 of the 5 matches. Yet, I can't beat a single person online...lol...oh well. This is really fun making my own PPV cards, etc.

Anyway, I decided against a LHW match between Silva and Griffin because I wanted Griffin to fight Machida for the LHW title in the near future and didn't want to have to wait another 5 or 6 cards before it happened. Thus, I have Silva defending his title at UFC 102 and Griffin challenging for the LHW title at UFC 103. I'm sure you all know Fedor is coming down the line, but, are there any other fighters from Strikeforce, Affliction, DREAM, etc. that you guys want to see in the alternate UFC universe? lol...let me know and point me in the direction of some decent CAF's and I can get them in ASAP.

Night of Knockouts! Penn Successfully Defends Lightweight Title

BJ Penn scored a knockout win over Kenny Florian in the 2nd round.

            UFC 101
            August 8, 2009
            Wachovia Center - Philadelphia, PA

            Maincard Results:

Middleweight Match: Kendall Grove (me) V Chris Leben
Kendall Grove easily won the first round with a series of takedowns and was able to pass Leben's guard once before Leben transitioned out with a reversal. Leben came out and won the second round with superior boxing and an improved takedown defense which neutralized Grove. Both fighters were gassed heading into the third round and it was only a matter of time before someone left themselves vulnerable. Leben did just that after a failed takedown of Grove. As Leben came up, Grove met him with a head-kick that finished the fight in Grove's favor.
Result: Kendall Grove wins by KO 1:53 into the 3rd round

Heavyweight Match: Fabricio Werdum V Brandon Vera (me)
Brandon Vera dominated this fight. He out-boxed Werdum, consistently landing punches to the head and moving before Werdum could counter. Vera also had a takedown in the first round. Visibly frustrated, Werdum looked to shoot for a takedown of his own, as he came in on Vera, Vera put his knee into Werdum's chin for the immediate knockout. Vera avenges his UFC 85 loss to Werdum with the victory.
Result: Brandon Vera wins by KO 4:34 into the 1st round

Welterweight Match: Diego Sanchez V Josh Koscheck (me)
FIGHT OF THE NIGHT! Koscheck and Sanchez worked the ground game with a number of impressive takedowns by each fighter and even more impressive reversals and transitions by each fighter. Koscheck was able to pass Sanchez's guard twice, yet, he was unable to finish the fight due to brilliant reversals by Sanchez. Koscheck landed consecutive kicks to the head before connecting with a left hook that knocked out Sanchez for good.
Result: Josh Koscheck wins by KO 1:11 into the 2nd round

Headline Event/Light Heavyweight Match: Shogun Rua V Thiago Silva (me)
The winner of this match immediately becomes the number one contender for the Light Heavyweight title against either Forrest Griffin or Lyoto Machida at a to be determined PPV date. Both fighters split the first round with tremendous ground work and reversals along with some impressive boxing skills. Due to the pace of the fight both fighters were visibly exhausted. Rua came out looking to land a big punch to end the fight, he was unable to connect and has his head came up he was hit with a kick to the face by Thiago Silva. Referee Herb Dean immediately stopped the fight due rendering Thiago Silva the winner and the #1 contender for the Light Heavyweight title.
Result: Thiago Silva wins by KO 0:17 into the 2nd round

Main Event/Lightweight Championship Match: BJ Penn (title holder/me) V Kenny Florian
Challenger Kenny Florian came out with some impressive takedowns of Penn. Penn was out-wrestled and manuevered in the first round. Penn spent most of his time on the mat and on his back. Penn had one opportunity in the first round against Florian. Penn was able to pass Florian's guard, but, it was immediately reversed. Penn simply survived the first round as Florian dominated. Penn came out for the second round focusing on his boxing skills as a way to gain momentum. Penn was able to connect on a series of punches that led to two knockdowns of Florian. Each time Florian was able to get back to his feet and avoid the TKO. Eventually Penn landed a punch that put Florian down on the mat for good and allowed him to retain his Lightweight title and stay undefeated at 155-pounds.
Result: BJ Penn wins by KO 3:07 into the 2nd round

Ight, ask for Direction and I shall help.

First I wanna say Griffin would never get that fight against Machida. At least not this early. "Rampage" Jackson is currently the #1 contender at 205, I would say Griffin is #4-5 for title shots. I'd put Dan Henderson, "Shogun" Rua and even "Suga" Rashad for a rematch. The Main reason I say this is because Griffins last fight was a loss... The UFC would never give a title shot to a guy who didn't even win his last fight. Besides Machida would fuck Griffin up. Best match-up for Machida would be "Shogun" IMO.

Anywho as far as bringing peeps back. You can bring Arlovski and Sylvia back (since they are already in the game at Heavy Weight) That makes that job easy. Josh Barnett, but take into account if you bring these 3 in then Affliction is shot and Fedor would be next. Cuz These 3 are card toppers in Affliction.

Anderson Silva to Defend Title at UFC 102

Anderson Silva will put his Middleweight belt on the line

                Date: September 12, 2009

                Time: 10pm ET/7pm PT

                Event Type: Live PPV

Location: Staples Center - Los Angeles, CA

The UFC returns to Los Angeles for UFC 102! The evening's Main Event will feature Middleweight champion Anderson Silva putting his title on the line against Demian Maia. Maia is currently undefeated in his MMA career (11-0-0) and looks to stay that way with an upset victory over Anderson Silva.

The Headline Event features lightweight stars Sean Sherk and Tyson Griffin in a rematch of their UFC 90 fight which saw Sherk win via unanimous decision. Griffin will look to stake claim to his spot as the top contender for the Lightweight title, but, to do that, he will have to defeat Sherk first.

                Full Card:

                Light Heavyweight Match:
                Houston Alexander (8-4-1) V Tim Boetsch (9-3)

                Main Event/Middleweight Championship Match:

Thanks for the input! Well, Thiago Silva just beat Shogun for the #1 contender shot at the LHW title. It would be against whoever won the Machida/Griffin fight. However, if you think Griffin would not get a shot, I can delay the Machida fight and just have him fight Thiago Silva down the line, or I can have Machida fight Rampage at UFC 103. This would be an easy fix b/c the current Main Event for UFC 103 is Machida V Griffin. Let me know what you think would be the best fight. Mind you, I am moving up a level for this next PPV. My last performance was a clean sweep 5-for-5 with user-control.

Also, being that Affliction is $40 mil in the hole, I planned on having a storyline where they go out of business and Fedor, Arlovski and Sylvia come over. I can see if I can find a CAF for Josh Barnett as well.

Ok few things. Until Rampage losses I can't see him losing #1 contender. Thiago Silva got his ass wipped by Machida at UFC 94. I would say you can give Thiago the title shot as a rematch. Because in real life Rampage and Rashad Evans are set to fight for #1 contender. (Suga and Rapage are scheduled to be the next coaches of The Ultimate Fighter).

Like I said Griffin hasn't won since... getting his ass handed to him by "Suga" Rashad Evans. I'd probably give Thiago the title shot (cuz you said he'd get it at the end of the last PPV) and the winner faces the winner of the Rampage/Evans bout.) Then on the same card as Thiago/Machida-2, put Griffin/Shogun-2.

In real life, Shogun is set to face Machida at UFC 104 and you can even start to bring Matt Hammill up, as he is on a 2 fight winning streak and slowly making his way up the ladder.

So, I can re-arrange the Thiago V Machida fight for later on down the road at another PPV and have Rampage V Evans for the #1 contender of the winner of the Thiago V Machida fight? This would put consecutive #1 contender bouts for the LHW on the line before Machida even defends it - If I am understanding you correctly.

It might just be easier to have Rampage fight Machida at UFC 103 and Thiago take on the winner down the road at another PPV. If I misunderstood what you were saying let me know - lol!

Right now, I have my UFC 104 Main Event as St-Pierre V Hughes IV. I could maybe push that back to another card down the road.

UFC 103 Main Event: Machida V Griffin
UFC 104 Main Event: St-Pierre V Hughes IV

My problem with keeping a Machida title bout on UFC 103 is that Thiago just fought UFC 101 and I want to be realistic with a time-span between matches. So, I could cancel the Machida V Griffin for UFC 103 and replace it with a Jackson V Evans Main Event. Then, I could put Machida V Thiago Silva at UFC 105 and then have the Jackson/Evans winner fight the Machida/Silva winner at UFC 109 or 110.

Or, I could delay the Machida/Silva fight till UFC 105, Headline the Jackson/Evans fight on the same card and have Griffin/Shogun take place at UFC 106 or Headline UFC 104. Then I could make a non-title match UFC 103 Main Event.

Griffin Pulls Out of UFC 103 Championship Match Due to Injury - Jackson V Evans to be Main Event at UFC 103

Rashad Evans and Rampage Jackson will meet for the first time in the Octagon at UFC 103.

Forrest Griffin informed UFC President Dana White that he would not be able to participate in the UFC 103 Main Event in Tampa, Florida. Griffin described the injury as a torn tendon in his knee that will require surgery. Griffin will be out for at least two months and will require some time to get back into fighting shape.

President Dana White announced the change to the card via conference call.

"We are doing everything we can to provide a entertaining card to our fans and we will continue to look for ways to move fights around to fit everyone's training schedule."

White informed the media that the Main Event for UFC 103 will now be between Quinton "Rampage" Jackson and "Suga" Rashad Evans. Current Light Heavyweight champion Lyoto Machida will now defend his title at UFC 105 against current #1 contender Thiago Silva.

Additional changes to future cards are expected as well, however, none have been announced yet. Also, President Dana White announced future sites for the next live PPV shows. The sites include:

UFC 104: Rose Garden Portland, OR

UFC 105: Quicken Loans Arena Cleveland, OH

                                Maincard Results:

Light Heavyweight Match: Houston Alexander V Tim Boetsch (me)
A even fight throughout the duration of the bout. Alexander and Boetsch kept the pace slow and deliberate and just physically pounded on each other. Boetsch was able to score a knockdown in the 2nd round, but, was unable to capitalize and finish off Alexander. Alexander took advantage of his opportunities in the ground game during the 3rd round. Alexander dominated the 3rd round and won with some old fashioned ground-n-pound to earn the TKO victory.
Result: Houston Alexander wins by TKO 1:59 into the 3rd round

Heavyweight Match: Justin McCully (me) V Heath Herring
Justin McCully was able to open up two separate gashes on Heath Herring's forehead almost immediately. McCully was the superior boxer in this match and simply dominated the fight earning him the knockout victory in just under 2 minutes.
Result: Justin McCully wins by KO 1:57 into the 1st round

Welterweight Match: Chris Lytle (me) V Anthony Johnson
Lytle was impressive early scoring a knockdown and a takedown in the first round. Lytle was giving up nearly 10" in reach in this fight and was often protecting himself more than he was reaching out to make contact with Johnson. However, when he did it was effective. Johnson was able to open up Lytle late in the 1st round with a flurry of punches to the face and body. Lytle was exhausted to start the 2nd round and focused on moving away from Johnson as much as possible. Johnson eventually cornered Lytle and moved in for a body shot, Lytle simply side-stepped Johnson and threw a left hook that laid him flat on his back on the mat scoring a knockout, upset, victory.
Result: Chris Lytle wins by KO 2:10 into the 2nd round

Headline Event/Lightweight Match: Sean Sherk V Tyson Griffin (me)
Sherk simply dominated this fight from the beginning. Griffin put up absolutely no fight and Sherk abused Griffin with a number of different takedowns. Sherk simply wore Griffin down. Sherk scored the TKO victory late in the 2nd round, however, Griffin simply survived the entire fight. He did almost nothing to Sherk.
Result: Sean Sherk wins by TKO 3:50 into the 2nd round

Main Event/Middleweight Championship Match: Anderson Silve (title holder) V Demian Maia (me)
Silva had too much speed for Maia. Silva dominated from the opening bell. Maia was unable to match Silva's athleticism and versatility in the ring. Maia was hoping to keep the match on his feet and often found himself on his back. Silva simply seemed to be toying with Maia and eventually ended the slaughter with a knockdown and TKO victory.
Result: Anderson Silva wins by TKO 4:46 into the 1st round
