Progression/Regression has been fixed... outside of a small progression bug that I caused, but it's rare and more annoying than anything.

CPU drafting is significantly better, though not as good as Head Coach yet.

CPU free agency I was unable to get a good feel for, but it's improved if nothing else. They know not to cut elite QBs though, which is good.

The game was going to ship with one progression issue or another... I was given the choice. I think the alternative was worse.

I'm confused, is it play-with-other-people-online online franchise, or is it take-your-franchise-where-ever-you-go-online online franchise? or both?

What are the progression issues? Can they be patched? I usually only play offline franchise, so it's pretty important to me..

I don't think it can be patched. I could be wrong, but I think it has to do with the crap base they were working with (thankfully that'll be ripped out next year).

The specific bug is that occassionally... one guy a year or so... somebody that's within shouting distance of 99 will, when he's supposed to gain 2 points, will loose 2 points instead. It's always someone' who's a 96 or better and in the "plateau" period of his career (i.e. years 5-12 for QBs).

The alternative is guys would gain 3-10 points of speed and agility over the course of their career.

That's not so bad... Do players regress realistically now?

Yes, though there's a basement (ie. players can't regress below a certain point, even if they play to 60)... so I guess how good it ends up being depends on the retirement logic, which I'm not sure about.

It's primarily web based. There voice support for the live draft, which you can participate in either through your console, the league website, or your iphone. I'm not 100% sure how much iphone integration there is, but apparently they're working on making it so you can actually call your plays and let the CPU play against an opponent through your iphone for times when you can't actually be at your console. I don't know if that made it this year or not, probably not, but there's SOME sort of iphone support. Maybe it's just depth charts, I dunno.

I don't wanna get too far into much else... there's some wrinkles I alluded too earlier that I don't want to be the one to break because, well, hey, maybe things have changed, I dunno.

Yea, this is great news. Madden was slowly dying, and they needed this. So I will be buying, and yes CLW I am still buying NCAA too
