Ok so 2 nights ago.......I was putzing around in the practice mode with the 458 and Veyron. I turned off both TC and ABS. Now I have driving other cars today, with the TC off but ABS at 1, to get a feel for the cars. I start up the Polyphony Digital Cup with the Veyron and I can't brake worth shit, the brakes lock up everytime no matter what. I was like fuck this car and pick up the 458 and start again, and I realize the damn car is not downshifting because I left the ABS off.
Apparently this fuckin game carries your car settings over, and the thought never crossed my mind

Blade, half your problem is that you use automatic, you lose tiny increments of time every time it autoshifts, and that adds up. Not to mention all the driving aids do as well (besides ABS at 1)
Also the Veyron is a boat, there are many other cars that are much better when it comes to turning.
On that FIAT race, try braking a little bit later in the first and next to last turns than it tells you to, you'll gain time doing that. There is definitely a much faster line to take than what is suggested for that track.Comment

I still have TC off.....no problems anymore.
Funny thing with driving manual is I just can't get used to shifting in this game. I have a automatic 2010 Camaro, but the car came with TapShift functionality. It's Chevy version of the paddle shifters. It's 6-speed and I use it all the time when I am driving. I have no issues using that mode in an actual car, my Dad's 2007 TSX is a piece of cake, the SportShift is floor mounted on that car.
But when it comes to driving with the same mode in the game, I just can't get used to it. I have remapped the controls numerous. I think for some reason when I am in an actual car, I have a better feel for the engine and the car. In the game I just don't get the same feedback I get from my own steering wheel or the sound of my own car.
So I keep going at it with automatic.

Atleast make one of them a GT-R or LFA or something.
