EA says "Xbox 360 is maxed out"....PS3 not.

No offense, but I love how averyone assumes they are referring to flagship games like Madden. You do know EA produces games like Dead Space and Mirrors Edge too, right?

And I have been reading quite a few articles recently talking about the SPU's in the PS3. Apparently most, if not all, developers have just begun to scratch the surface on how to 'farm' all of the computations out to the many SPU's on the PS3. Towards the end of the life cycle games are going to look ridiculous. Even a lead guy from Valve, a company whom I thought previously said that they hated the architecture of the PS3, said that the capabilities of the PS3's SPU's is enormous.

With that said I know many gaming 'experts' have said that games probably aren't going to be able to look much better than they do this generation. As far as graphics go we've reached the peak. The next generatiohn of consoles will probably show a negligible difference in graphics but it will be more about advancements in AI and such.

The PS2 is selling because the PS3 isn't and Sony has to have something to lean on (gaming wise). They even spun it at the conference "Every PS2 consumer is a future PS3 consumer"........is that a fact? Sony coming out with a PSP priced at $250 still makes me wnoder if they even believe they are in trouble. I'm sure both (MS & SONY) have teams working on the beginnings of a new system but they won't see the light of day until the $ woes are gone.

Graphically, the XBox is pushed to its limits by a few games. Most games don't even come close, but some of the best games out there are definitely pushing the system hard.

That being said, they are actually able to do such things because the XBox360 is much easier to program for. It has always been said that the PS3/PS2 is a bitch to program in comparison to the XBox360/Xbox. I don't know if we'll ever see the PS3 pushed to its full limits simply because programming such a game would not be worth the extreme cost.

its no secret that what EA and IW and whatever other devs that are saying this are correct. The 360 is what is.....you can only get so much out of it before its time to make a new system, which oh btw is in the works....that announcement will probably come at next years E3.....and yes, thats an opinion

Me personally, I'm just sitting back enjoying what's to come. I couldn't care less about a console war or how the PS3 is doing in sales... I care about how happy I am with my system.

No, because the 360 is easier to program for plus it was out well before the PS3. So, of course that's going to be maxed out before the PS3. The 360 games are still better and by the time the PS3 catches up we'll be talking about the new xbox.

I already happen to think that the PS3 exclusives have surpassed the 360's. Maybe there is a little catching up to do when it comes to multiplatform games, but the differences aren't too big between the different versions anyway.

as far as EA goes they do take stuff over and turn it to shit just look at warhammer online rushed it to the street and within a month subscriber base fell threw the floor.
