The stretched ratings won't mean a thing if they still have Madden IQ. Constantly adjusting the difficulty level mid-game makes sense in a role-playing game, but all it does on a football field is make the ratings useless. If you have a great QB playing great football (possible Madden-ism), the defense will in turn react to this and be more challenging, and thus, your QB will no longer be all that great. If you have a RB having an off day in the first half, not to worry, because the game is about to get easier.

Slumps/great games is mainly what football is about, and more importantly, it's why certain players ARE good and why others are not. The Madden IQ - although a good idea on paper - takes the ratings right out the window.

I won't be picking up Madden 10 on release day, I'm gonna be renting it first (used to always buy it on release day as well and had every Madden since '97). It's sad it came to this point, but hopefully things are looking up and I can happily jump back on the bandwagon next year.

You do realize Madden IQ could be shut off in 09, right?

And that it's off by default in 10... I expect it'll be removed in 11.

I am buying Madden because no matter how bad of a reception it receives, or how much people complain about it, I will still buy it. It is just something I do every single year since about 1997. I have gotten it the day it came out every single year lol. It signals the beginning of the NFL season and I love that.

I am not really excited about madden as i use to be on ps 2, but i am hopefully optomistic that it wont suck as bad as this past one did. no matter what, i will play it and i will play it year round. i just love football and this is theonly game in town.
