I just created a player that was NOT in this year's game, but was in last years game...I fired up 09, copied down the attributes and re-created him into '10...In '09, his overall was a 74. In 2010 his overall is a 62.
Same position, same everything. A simple re-create.
My guess? Overall is weighted a lot more on aspects of a player in relation to the position.
Example. Defensive End Overalls have more weight to them in categories like Tackle, Hit Power, Power Moves, Finesse Moves, Block Shedding, and Pursuit than they did in previous years...as you could simply make a guy with high Speed, Acceleration, Agility, Strength, and tackle numbers to create a very high overall player.
