As we all know ....For the 2010 edition of Madden, two players, Troy Polamalu and Larry Fitzgerald, were featured on the cover for the first time in the history of the Madden franchise. Last nite, Polamalu left the Steelers opening game with a knee injury and did not return. Polamalu has a sprained MCL and will be out 3-6 weeks.

Vince Young (2008) He was injured, booed off the field and he also mentioned at one point of killing himself.

Ray Lewis (2005) After earning the honor to appear on the 2005 edition, Lewis looked to be the player to break the curse. But, he broke his wrist in the second last game of the season.
Michael Vick (2004) Literally days after Madden 2004 was released, Vick injures his fibula and misses all but 5 games of the Atlanta Falcons season. The Falcons ended up with a 5-11 record.
Marshall Faulk (2003) played in 11 games, injured for 5
Daunte Culpepper (2002) After appearing on the cover of the 2002 version, Culpepper struggled to a 4-7 start and eventually fell to a knee injury.
Eddie George (2001) lowest rush total in his career, 3.0 per carry.
Barry Sanders (2000) Abruptly retires after only 10 seasons in the NFL. He was arguably still in his prime.
