    THE MADDEN CURSE STRIKES AGAIN!!!!!!

    As we all know ....For the 2010 edition of Madden, two players, Troy Polamalu and Larry Fitzgerald, were featured on the cover for the first time in the history of the Madden franchise. Last nite, Polamalu left the Steelers opening game with a knee injury and did not return. Polamalu has a sprained MCL and will be out 3-6 weeks.

    Others::
    Brett Favre (2009) After the season, he found out that he had a torn biceps muscle, which was one of the reasons for his discomfort late in the year.

    Vince Young (2008) He was injured, booed off the field and he also mentioned at one point of killing himself.

    Shaun Alexander (2007) Sustained a foot injury that caused him to miss six starts.

    Donovan Mcnabb (2006) After making it to the Super Bowl in 04-05, Mcnabb suffered a sports hernia in the first game of the season, feuded all year with Terrell Owens, and then finally decided to have his injury surgically repaired, effectively ending his season after only 10 games.

    Ray Lewis (2005) After earning the honor to appear on the 2005 edition, Lewis looked to be the player to break the curse. But, he broke his wrist in the second last game of the season.

    Michael Vick (2004) Literally days after Madden 2004 was released, Vick injures his fibula and misses all but 5 games of the Atlanta Falcons season. The Falcons ended up with a 5-11 record.

    Marshall Faulk (2003) played in 11 games, injured for 5

    Daunte Culpepper (2002) After appearing on the cover of the 2002 version, Culpepper struggled to a 4-7 start and eventually fell to a knee injury.

    Eddie George (2001) lowest rush total in his career, 3.0 per carry.

    Barry Sanders (2000) Abruptly retires after only 10 seasons in the NFL. He was arguably still in his prime.

    Can Larry Fitzgerald break the Curse???

      It's not the first time I've heard somebody say that. :dontknow:

      I guess each forum will have this thread.

      sidenote - lol at Georges avg really being 2.9. They gave him that.1 so it doesn't look that bad.

              Cause it's just a background pic. Most Madden releases in the 90's had players in the background too.

                  The Madden curse truly started with Garrison Hearst...He was on the cover of Madden 99. Hearst suffered a gruesome ankle break when his foot was caught in the Georgia Dome turf and twisted severely as he tried to spin away from Falcons' defensive end Chuck Smith. Doctors said he might not play again, even though the 49ers kept him on their roster as an inactive player. He suffered a Avascular Necrosis causing the talus bone in his foot to die.
