Turned up defensive awareness up 5 points, just finished playing Orlando. They musta had like 10+ alleyoops...was like watching a damn Globetrotter game. Turned down CPU Alleyoops to 30 late in the second half. Lost (again) 89-82. *sigh*

I think I turned down alley oop tendency to 30 as well but forgot to post it in here and edit the 1st post. i'll have to check after this reel uploads.
I give up on this damn game. Starting to piss me off so bad, same shit over and over again. Guy passes it from perimeter right over my CPU controlled guy for the easy layup/dunk. Rinse, repeat all fucking day. Then on offense my guys can't make layups for the life of me. And I just tried on Superstar as well, same shit. 1-7 (7 game losing streak) with the fucking Pistons...I know I don't suck this damn bad when I did quite well with them last year. Whatever.

Umm, maybe you do? I'm just saying.
This year's game is much harder then previous editions. The CPU defense is boosted way up and they're offensive abilities are through the roof. I've played a good 20 games now and I think Mike has the cheese curbed just enough to make this game enjoyable and challenging without dumbing down the game play.
You said your getting the lobbed passes over your CPU controlled defender? Why not play on ball defense? Or if you see the pass coming pick the next player in the paint and collapse him with the defense. A lot of people complaining on here about these sliders, and the game play. When all you have to do is play the game of basketball, the way it was meant to be played.
lol I'm not bitching at Mike at all. There's glimpses where this can be a fantastic game. I'd just like to play a damn game where I blow someone out for once. Seems like every game it's a nail biter until the 4th quarter when the CPU just blows by me. I need to turn the defensive playbook to manual as I remember previous years it was best to have the CPU do your playcalling on offense and defense. I'll try some diff shit this year though since like Vinsane said it is alot harder this year.
I might have to change some of my offensive plays as well cause I don't like Detroit's default playbook aside from Rip's Elbow Jumper. I was just venting like I stated, but I do appreciate the help here Mike.
Sidenote - I've also noticed when you turn that Defensive Assist (one that's in the controller options) all they way down to 0, when you manually try to cover a man, you can't play on the ball defense (like it doesn't automatically stay with the CPU defender when he runs around the court), so I have that on 5 just for that.

Remember how I said the Jazz shit on me for 119 points.
I just held them to under 95.
If you manually cover someone off the ball, you have to follow them around. it's always been like that. lol. You can't expect it to follow him around for you. Or maybe I misundersand what you're saying.
No but seriously Krul, these sliders are meant to be challenging. I don't want you to think the game sucks ass because of the difficulty/sliders you're using. Tweak them to your liking. Like I said in the first post, slider sets aren't universal. Some people get more realistic results on harder/easier settings, etc etc.

Yea you misunderstood me (or I didn't explain it good enough lol), but I meant when you're covering the guy with the ball, when you hold the L2 button (PS3) it'll show the little red ring under your player showing that he's playing on-ball defense, but if you change the slider to 0 it doesn't anymore.
I know man, but I'm one of the guys that likes to lose games as well as win em (always strive for realism in sports games). I'll continue to use your sliders, still early in the season, I'll try changing up the defense and what not.

Ah, I see what you mean.
As far as the little red ring, with it at 0, I notice some of my players (Jonny Flynn for example) get it while others (Ramon Sessions) don't.
My assumption, due to the fact that Flynn is a pretty good defender while Sessions at the 2 meh, not so much, is that only good defenders can lock on well.
Maaaaan, I think I found out my problem. I said in one of my last posts how I need to change some of my offensive plays. Well, I took about a whole hour last night changing my whole offensive playbook and running them in practice mode and I gotta say....SO MUCH better lol. I noticed Detroit's default playbook has a shitload of quick iso's in it where the guard basically stands around the perimeter and that's about it. Now I have alot more movement and guys getting open some more for the mid-range, post, and even a couple of perimeter shots (mainly for Ben Gordon...who was 4/6 from three and had 30 points...coming off the bench lol). Granted, I still lost the game 93-90 (against the Wizards), but I actually felt good about it cause I didn't feel "cheated" this time. No alleyoops, no quick inside passes for the easy bucket (adjusted to that a bit as well).
Only thing that's been killing me this year, is for some reason I can't get free throws down for some guys. Gonna need to go into practice for that to I think. I think Rip's missed more from the line than he's made...and that just isn't right lol. I gotta get his motion down and shit.
All I had to do was change my offensive plays and the game is fun as hell again.

W000! Sure enough, my very next game against the Dallas Mavericks I lead by up to as much as 21 throughout the entire game...then almost had a meltdown where they were down by 6 in the 4th quarter. Thankfully that didn't happen though as I ended up winning 95-82 snapping my 8 game losing streak! All because of some beautiful offensive plays run to perfection and some good D (although Dirk was giving me fits throughout the entire second half).
Now it's off to Los Angeles to play Kobe and the Lakers...I have a feeling my win streak won't last too long lol.

Know there hasn't been an update recently, but was just wondering if you're gonna make adjustments to your sliders if needed (and it looks like you might need to) once the Patch drops in 2-3 weeks?
