I think best buy has a deal where if it gets fucked up, you bring it back to them and the exchange it for a new one directly from their store, rather then having to call Microsoft and having to mail your 360 in for repair.

ask your parents if they bought this, if they didn't then you need to mail it in through microsoft, all you have to do is call 1-800-4my-xbox

I don't think you have to have the receipt...

I just bought my nephew a 360 for christmas and they asked me when I bought it if I wanted to buy the insurance that Best Buy offered where they would give you a new 360 if yours busted.

if they bought that, it should be in their name, and I'm sure the only thing they would actually need would be proper identification (driver's License).

if not, you have to go through Microsoft, which means you'll be waiting 2-4 weeks.
