    360 Headsets

Both of my headsets that came with consoles are terrible, so I want to buy a nicer one. I was planning on buying these:

Does anyone have any experience with Turtle Beaches, or have any other brands that they've liked?

turtlebeachs are the shit, I miss the hell outta mine, the directional sound helps out a ton in shooters and the audio is crisp and clear, they are simple to hookup and can be used with anything that utilizes rca jacks, which is a lil bit of a downer if you don't have all the cables that came with you xbox still cause it is a bitch to find that one lil cable to be able to plug in the rca jacks with hdmi......

Ive had a couple pair of Turtle Beaches and they arent even close to my Trittons. If you lived here, Id give you the x41's I have collecting dust. Once I got my AX Pros, I knew Id never use them again.

Turtle Beach's are for real players but I think Tritons are nice looking and more comfortable.

        Coming soon...

Wireless is not for people who want good sound. Tritton > TB in every way.

wireless>being attached to anything any day
If you could see me with my headphones plugged into my tv and my xboxlive headset plugged into my control with both sets on at the same time then you would know... Whats the price gap between the two?

The last time I used Turtle Beachs on 360 they weren't what I expected but they were still pretty damn good with the sound. The quality of the sound isn't the best but the magnification of the sound is great.

I like my PS3 Turtle Beach headset just fine.

I REALLY disagree. You cant get true 5.1 sound out of anything wireless to date. The sound quality takes a HUGE hit when you go wireless, which is why the TB x41s havent been used once. The Tritton AX Pros have 4 speakers (including a real subwoofer) in each headphone. How can some wireless infrared one driver headset even be close? lol

If you NEED wireless for some reason, thats one thing. But even really expensive wireless headphones ($500+) take a huge sound quality hit compared to wired, true digital headphones. BTW, I got my Trittons for $40 LESS than I paid for those fucking Turtle Beaches. $200 for the X41s, $160 for the AX Pros.

Im not saying people wont like them "just fine", but im a real audiophile. Im very picky about sound quality and spend tons of money on getting the best surround sound I can. I needed some headphones so naturally, I bought the TB headset because they were easily available and $200 later, I felt like I wasted my money.

then apparently you don't know what its like to have a dog that goes batshit crazy every five minutes and trips over everything in sightand a girlfriend who likes to step on cables therefore ripping your ears off the side of your head.... Im sure the sound quality is much better from a wired set but in all honesty how much of that difference can the human ear actually hear? If we are talking a 50 dollar diffrence then it isn't to much of a worry but if your talking 100 or more for a wired over a wireless then Ill stick with the TB

The Trittons are LESS (and the sound quality difference is huge btw), and no I dont know what those things are like. I dont have a dog, and I only use my headphones when everyone else is asleep.

I have the X3. Shitty chat quality, sound is better than the audio straight from my tv, but not top of the line quality.

Virix knows what hes talking about. Wired is always better. Wireless is convenient, but not the best.

I think we are in agreement but with diffrent words. I have never used a wired set (well my radio shack over the ear headphones but thats not the same thing) and can only really comment on the reliability and functionality of the wireless TB. I thought they were really good and I could actually "feel" the sound if that makes sense. I'm almost certain mine had more than one speaker per ear piece but not because I read that or anything just that they sounded like it, Im tempted to go home and take them apart just to see...

I had wireless turtle beaches and I didn't like them that much. The signal would fade easily and I couldn't adjut the mic/game volume. The game volume was so loud or the mic volume was so low that I could barely hear anyone talk.

For TB's or the Tritton's, are you able to hear the game audio OK through speakers if you are just using it as a headset?

I never had any of these sound level volumes or fading that you guys are talking about, did you adjust signal strength and turn the signal booster on on the side of the lil thing the signal comes out of (whats the word)

Well they are overear headsets so I would say yea if you turn your volume all the way up, they are a bit of a waste though if your just gonna use them for the mic
