If not, you'll miss out on getting Dog as a companion unless you started a game as a Human Noble.

I'm sure it is for the Oblivion/Fallout 3/Mass Effect crowd but I despise those games.

I liked the last one a lot but got stuck when I wasn't "powerful" enough to get past a certain point in the game (don't even think I was halfway through). Got real frustrating.

Yeah, i didn't realize that and got stuck. Looked at a faq on gamefaqs and the recommended level I was supposed to be at was like 27 and I was 22....

Which one was the last one you played? 12? and yeah sometimes you got to just roam around a bit to level up. Sometimes its jsut about catching breaks though. I think in 7 8 and 9 I got lucky so many times where a boss didnt call a spell that would have destroyed my last person alive and then had time to bring my fallen comrades back with some phoenix downs.
