    Crap.

I can get into the PSN Store, browse the newest stuff and even find the Season Pass for BL2.

But I get all the way up to entering a code to put money into my PSN account and the damn thing times out after a minute or two.

Almost done with Dishonored, and despite my enjoyment of those types of games, I'm having a VERY hard time liking this one. The story isn't as bad as advertised (although the characters aren't fleshed out enough), but I just find the gameplay to be kind of frustrating (I'm going for a no deaths playthrough -- and while I guess that is supposed to be the extreme...it shouldn't be as irritating as it is I feel). Still, not bad, like it overall.

About to fire up RISEN 2! The sequel to probably my all time favorite bad game of all time! Same intro music! Pirates now! Super psyched!....?

Soon as I bang out the rest of BL2 and the new DLC, I'm jumping on Dishonored.

No Solid Snake run, just a lot of Jason Vorhees-type shit.

Also, when Risen 2 hits $20, I'm looking to get it.

Hasn't been a decent pirate game that wasn't LEGO-based in ages.

As far as the first part, I think that that is by far the best, most enjoyable way to play through that game.

As far as the second...and this is coming from someone who has played the critically panned first part 4 TIMES...it's got some really wonky controls. Honestly, I'd be curious what you or someone else that hasn't played Risen would feel, because I feel like the camera is too sluggish, while as in Risen I feel like I remember the camera always turning way too sensitively.

Also, I can say right off the of the bat that Risen > Risen 2 in terms of setting up characters and story, so if you haven't played Risen 1, your desire for a pirate RPG might not outweigh the crazy EURO RPG nonsense going on.

I'm going through Dishonored. Going for a stealthy, but killing all bad guys playthrough. It's really starting to feel like a chore to do this type of character. I definitely agree with your characters comment Seth, they aren't being fleshed out enough. I dunno, I guess I'll reserve my judgement until I'm finished.

Oh jeez...the only hope I had for myself was that when I could go through and kill the main bad dudes it's be less tedious. How far along are you Swarley?

I just got through the Kaldwin's Bridge mission. It's just that trying to be completely stealthy is so damn tough when there's 10 dudes all standing around each other. Just gets a little irritating when I want that kind of character, but half the time it seems impossible to do.

That was the mission that really got there for me...and then it got worse. I don't know, it's a very good game in a lot of ways, just very disappointing too. And yeah, the story doesn't help it out much. I wanted to think that maybe the reviewers were wrong, but it's just a very great world with a very half written story IMO.

And to go back, yeah, the difficulty of all stealth is fucked up towards the end. I am playing on easy at this point and I still reloaded about 15 times on the next to last mission (granted, a lot of that is my own problem, but more than that I feel it lacks a stealth system that is well presented).

I really like the game, it just takes a lot of steps back at times, and it doesn't have a story to save it.

I guess the thing that bugs me most is that they kept saying that there were so many different ways to play this game.

I think that there are, but I feel like the part that isn't told to you is that it is either be a combat master and use everything, or try the stealth route which is "GO UP! KEEP GOING UP UNTIL YOU CAN'T!" It's weird. I see a lot of different approaches with things like rats, fish, etc...but it has the same problem at times that Bioshock did: Why would I go out of my way to possess a rat when I could just Blink/Time freeze and have the same results in less time?

(Bioshock never really had that obviously, but just the basic idea of just because you can do it a lot of ways doesn't mean I'm going to want to go back and do it a lot of ways).

I dunno, feels like another of those weird games now that I have only bad things to say about yet overall I enjoyed.

So I ordered SSX and KOA: Reckoning from the GameFly sale. Really looking forward to KOA, although who knows when I'll get to it. Damn backlog is so ridiculous right now.

                              Mass Effect 4 Won't Star "Shepard 2"

Speaking to VG247, BioWare Montreal producer Fabrice Condominas confirmed that while the series will continue beyond the current trilogy, it will be a completely separate experience.

He explained, "There is one thing we are absolutely sure of – there will be no more Shepard, and the trilogy is over.

"This is really our starting point. Now the Mass Effect universe is vast, and very, very rich. So at this point in time, we don’t even know what kind of time frame we’re going to be in. All we’re doing is more gathering ideas from the teams, gathering feedback to see several things.

"So first, we don’t want to make ‘Shepard 2′, or Mass Effect 4 with like, ‘oh there’s no more Shepard but you’re a soldier in the universe’. So this will be a very, very different context for sure, and nothing has been decided on the rest."

While nothing else is known about the next entry in the franchise, Bioware hasn't given up supporting Mass Effect 3 just yet; the company recently announced the release date and price of the Omega DLC, which is set to be the largest expansion for the game yet.

                                Custom PS3 Mass Effect mod:

I have a PlayStation 3. It works perfectly well. In well over four years of loyal service, it hasn't failed us yet and it most certainly does not need replacing.

I'm not even a Mass Effect guy but this thing looks bad ass. Why doesn't Sony do shit like this themselves? I know we've talked about this ad nauseum here and on the podcast. They are just leaving money on the table. Could you imagine if they could sell these bundled with the trilogy coming out soon? They would probably fly off shelves.
