Oh come on, you're going to play this card now? You hate on RPGs for dice rolls when EVERYTHING in a video game is a dice roll. Same thing. Just because you fire a gun or shoot a ball or something and it happens instantly, doesn't mean that dice rolls aren't involved.

Still, yes, every mode is the same. Sure the goal is slightly different, but the basic purpose is "use turbo properly, push, steal, and try to score a lot of points before the AI kicks in". Are you serious right now?

I really want you to tell me why paying $50 for NBA Jam ISN'T a ripoff, yet you're so ready to shit on 90% of the XBLA prices.

I'm sorry but you will never convince me of that. There is no comlarison to shooting someone in the face in a game like CoD and doing the same thing in Alpha Protocol. In CoD it's a kill whereas in AP so many boring factors come into play. What was my characters' marksman rating? What was the enemies' level? Was elemental magic used? Did I get a ratings boost because I'm an elven warrior and he enemy is susceptible to dwarves. Then even with a dead on head shot you might only take off 20% health because of dice rolls.

Do I believe there is a form of "dice rolls" in sports games? Of course. How else would it work?

And as far as this comparison you keep bringing up between this game and XBLA games, I've gotten 30 hours out of Jam at at least. Most of the XBLA games that are over priced are the $15 ones that last a few hours and have zero replayability. Two that come to mind are Limbo and the latest Contra game.

But as far as the topic that brought me to drudge this thread back up, I do think it's complet bullshit that EA is failing to give full support to a full features retail game. Thy are just fucking themselves in the long run.

          1) I don't care if you don't accept it...ALL VIDEO GAMING IS COMPRISED OF DICE ROLLS. Sorry to spoil that for you, but it's true.

          2) We're talking about an XBLA game that they released with a retail price tag. That you can argue that is, still, laughable. And that it doesn't bother you is equally laughable. And now youre reasoning is playtime? Come on man. That's it? NBA Jam was a SUB PAR game. It was a SNES game with pretty graphics. Meanwhile you compare it to games that maybe lasted a few hours like Limbo, yet at least Limbo did something new. Length does not equal quality and I know that you believe that. So stop trying to come up with excuses.

I'm not trying to browbeat you here, I just think it's extremely odd that you're choosing a Super Nintendo/Genesis game that was remade with HD graphics as the game to trumpet being worth the insane price tag.
