the other thing that bugs me is the installs of games. I buy a new game and i want to play, but have to wait for the install. Same applies to demos. Not only do they take forever to DL, but then you have to wait 20-30 mins for the install.

I think what Maynard was talking about was the ridiculous game installs that every disc game needs, as well as anything you download.

If you download something from XBL, you can play as soon as it's done. With PS3, not so much.

I totally missed the first post. I just remembered him talking about only having a 20GB and installing games to his HDD wasn't an option.

I'm not a techy, I only know what I see.

I see that when I download a game like the Dante's Inferno demo, I have to wait 20 minutes to download it, and then another 5 for it to install. On the 360, I wait 20 minutes to download and then jump right in.

I like to put a game in and play. I don't like to put a game in, wait 3 minutes, and play.

I'm with you there. It's cool that you can have what seems like an endless amount of shit downloading at once on the PS3 but the downloads definitely take fucking forever compared to 360. I alos don't understand the additional install part.

i dont like installing on the 360. i should be able to play the game without fear of RROD.....the ps3 doesnt have these play from hard drive installs, but they still make you install the game....its not a huge problem, but a small annoyance for sure.

another thing about my ps3 is my TV HDMI port. the port isnt as secure as it should be on my TV and i get the stupid ass screen shift every 15 mins or so. its shifts back within 5 seconds. I also get the occasional blank screen because of this hdmi port. I have to power off/on the tv when that happens.

i am surprised i made it thru the golden sombrero without it being a problem. Nothing worse then batting with a 3-2 count and having the screen shift or go black.....FML

not every game requires installment. last three games i bought needed no install, uncharted 2, mw2 and demons souls.

Does anyone know why that is? I thought it was because the bluray is so massive that without an install shit would load crazy slow. Yest some games have them and some don't. And some that have them (especially recently) are very quick.

Is the start to finish time in reality faster or is that just an illusion since the PS3 has 2 steps and it makes it seem like its taking longer?
