Damn, Im loving this game.... Socrack is back!!!

I just hooked back up with my old Socom 2 clan and we had a blast in our first two clan matches.

The maps on this game are gorgeous, I haven't played a map I don't like yet.

Oh... Classics mode is my favorite mode, its the way Socom was meant to be played. Fuck respawns!!!

So a few quick thoughts of the 2-3 hours I spent playing last night:

Pro's

-First off, 32-man team games are pretty awesome considering there was NO lag whatsoever. For the the first day of the servers being up, they were excellent. Felt like I was playing offline.

-Only played like 3 maps (as well as Abandoned)and I gotta say, the maps are pretty sweet so far. Rush Hour & that Von Heisen one are my early favs.

-The sounds (guns firing, explosions, hits) are awesome as they always were in SOCOM. The sound that happens when you get killed just sounds so sick lol.

Cons

-My major gripe is that online is so generic and not as expansive as I'm used to with the SOCOM series. If they went back to the SOCOM 3 style with the mail box, extended stats, leaderboards, etc. it would be awesome.

-No parties, so you just gotta join the game that your buddies are in and pray it's not full.

-I do wish that even the "new" mode that it would keep it the old SOCOM ways where you have to press a button to talk. I've always hated that open air, COD style of talking. Just too cluttered imo. Good news is on Classic games it's still the old style (press up on the d-pad to talk, thought that was a weird placement for it though).

-No lobbies. Again, like COD you just pick a game mode and you go into a random game. This might be my biggest gripe, I loved that you could pick different servers and different games. I'm really hoping they patch this in or something (although I doubt it).

-No character personalizing. Minor I know, but I liked being able to customize your character.

Other than that though, I'm looooving the gameplay and I'm probably hooked like QS stated he already is.

A few things they need to do to improve this shit.

Pull the fucking camera back to the way it always have been. This shit is absolutely to close, especially when it randomly zooms up to your shoulder.

Add shoulder switching. Ive been getting fucked up running around left corners blindly because I cant switch the shoulder view.

Pistols. Add them damnit. 2 primary weapons is lame.

Why the fuck doesnt classic mode have 16 man small maps and respawn does? Patch this shit.

Im back to my AzzholeByNature tag BTW, Shit is banned across EA servers but I can use it for every other game.

How do you unlock all the weapons and attachments? I need silencers.

Do you have to get kills with each weapon to unlock certain attachments? If so I would definitely be doing respawn matches till I get the shit I want.

Yup. Each kill works toward leveling up the weapon that you used, and each level gives you an additional attachment, larger magazines, more ammo, etc.

No parties, wtf does that mean?

You can't create a group with guys and enter a match together unless it's the clan deploy. So if you want to play with your friend in a public match, you can't make a group in the menus and join a random game together. You have to try to join a friend who's already in a game.

PSN REALLY needs to get some kind of party-system like 360 has, there's really no excuse not to have one, is there? I'm thinking about trading a bunch of games in and picking this up...we'll see.

Not being able to play with friends easily is pretty lame man, and no pistols..the fuck?! Im going to miss switching to my pistol and raping someone while he's still shooting at me with his primary.

That's good to hear. I'm surprised it made it out of the beta without that being implemented. I know I heard plenty of people complain about not being able to group up before you join a game during the beta.

Camera needs to be taken the fuck back and the random zooming needs to be taken the fuck out. The game has potential but as it stands I dont see myself playing this shit to long.

It's sounds like they really jacked some things up already. How do you leave out partying up or lobbies? I'm pretty sure Seals would have a sidearm also.

Oh that's another thing, Navy Seals are NOWHERE to be found in this game lol. In fact, online, the "good guys" are called "Spec Ops" while the bad guys are called "Insurgents".

I miss the days of "Seals Win" and "Terrorists Win" lol.
