So you arcade vets, which should I get: Outland, Super Meat Boy, or Bastion? Also, are there any downloadable fighters that are solid for cheap besides Deadliest Warrior?

Outland was my favorite I think. Just amazing art, great, challenging gameplay (but not too challenging), and a surprisingly decent story.

Bastion is a lot of fun too, but gameply-wise I think I like Outland better.

Super Meat Boy is simultaneously one of the best and worst video games of alltime. I love that game. And I also fucking hate that game.

I have been thinking about getting Super Meat Boy for a while, I think I might finally get it.

It's kind of interesting for me since I'm fucking AWFUL at actual old-school platformers like Mega Man and Mario, but newer hardcore trial-error platformers like N+ and VVVVVV I really enjoyed and actually consider myself to be good at. So we'll see.

I have it and it's a great platformer there's a ton of levels in it as well. Controls are spot on and you will be challenged as well to get 100%. I want to get back to playing it just have played other games.

I played the demo and had a friggin blast. Growing up on NES Mario made this hella enjoyable. I'll buy this first then Outland when I get paid next. Still searching for a solid fighter.. I might break down and get a DBZ game because it is also something close to my childhood. Haaa

Well a new fighter that's coming out is Street Fighter III: 3rd Strike I'm not much of a fighter fan but that's the newest one coming out.

Well I've confirmed it and it has been in development since 2007. My guess would be largely due to the art. And I understand that they can "borrow" elements from other games, but since there is really no way of knowing I would pause before I would call it a ripoff of PJS. I'd say it's more of a ripoff of Castlevania/Metroid than that, personally.

As far as the price point, the multiplayer is fantastic and I think more than makes up for the somewhat easy singleplayer. I have a hard time determining between what is worth $10 and $15, but that has been a point of contention between you and I for long enough that there's no need to rehash it.

I did find it interesting that I listened to the latest CAGcast (from 07/30?) and CheapyD said that it's just like the PJS games with a mix of Limbo and PJ's art style and Metroidvania exploration. He also thought it was a tad too expensive. Basically exactly what I said.

But saying that the game is more Metroid than PJS sounds like you haven't played the PJS games because that's crazy talk.

And it's not so much that the game isn't worth $15. I'm sure it is. But when comparable games are $10 on PSN, and in this case very similar, it's hard to defend MS's price point.

So, I watched some videos of Fruit Ninja and I'm just going to come out and say it: despite all of my assumptions, the game looks like a lot of fun. Not worth buying a Kinect IMO, but it looks surprisingly entertaining.

agreed...I watched the quick look on Gb and it did look fun.

When kinect is 49.99 maybe i will buy for shits and giggles.

Yeah, it seems that it has gotten it's best reviews from CAG and GB. I wasn't surprised by the CAG review because Shipwreck slobs MS's knob but the GB one was surprising.

Too bad $50 won't happen until the next console releases. At least they are charging $10 and not $15 for the game.

I am pretty sure the pricing structure for all XBLA games are going up. Stick that in your pipe and smoke it.
