That's what it sounds like, along with Hulu, ESPN, etc. And knowing these fucking assholes, you'll get a commercial every opportunity. In between any show you watch on Netflix, Hulu, whatever.
I'm sorry, but I don't know how anyone can defend this. They keep charging us money for a service that is free on PC and PS3 and yet keep finding ways to make it shittier and shittier with jumbled fucking menus and loads of commercials and ads. They couldn't give two fucks what makes a better experience for the customer, just what lines their pockets quicker.
There has to be more people that consider ads and commercials on a paid service is a little absurd. The fact that you can't access other paid services like Netflix or Hulu+ without having a Gold membership baffles me too.
I'm not part of the problem twiggly. See i don't do Netflix cause im an internet pirate. ESPN is maybe the only app i use and thats if the WVU games aren't on TV. My Xbox is for gaming and occasional music when i'm cleaning the apartment.

I don't use any of those apps either, mostly because my ISP isn't supported. But that doesn't make it any less of a douche bag and slimy move.

what he said...though commercials in my espn app will piss me off...
I could care less really. We get commercials shoved down our throat on the TV and internet already anyways, it was only a matter of time. Is it annoying as fuck? Of course, but whatevs. However, I don't use a lot of the apps on the Xbox anyways except for MLB.tv and ESPN3 during the fall and winter for K-State games.

*le sigh
No you shouldn't have commercials during services like Hulu and Netflix. Where you will get commercials is when using ESPN, CBS Interactive Properties GameSpot and Last.fm, Manga Entertainment, and MUZU.TV. Those companies have bought into Microsofts Advertising program so they themselves can generate income from the xbox.
Entertainment apps on the xbox have now surpassed game time on the xbox. Which is huge because microsoft is doing exactly what they wanted to do and that was put out a product that will act as everything from gaming system to media center. I actually have to laugh because I thought this idea was rediculous when they first stated. This is what they wanted to do all those years ago when we first saw the 360. Whats even funnier is the kinect which everyone (including myself) thought was hugely useless is turning into a glorified wireless and handsetless remote. The new ad system in place will actually interact with whats being shown with the kinect. It's scary because if logitech lets say came out with something similar to it we'd (I use this loosely because I myself don't even own one of those harmony remotes) all be rushing to get it.
This has little to no effect on the gaming side of things and like most everything microsoft has done will not affect myself because if I want to put a game in the system and play thats what it'll do. Live continues to function almost perfectly and I don't have any problems there.
Now do I have a problem with the idea itself of seeing little commercials before watching something on espn, yah I hate it on youtube but I have to stop and think if it wasn't for that advertising revenue I highly doubt youtube as itself would exsist any longer and I have to think that is the same reason microsoft along with the companies who are actually supporting this are doing it.
