DAMN.....I was hoping no one would feed into this.....now look what happened. Ads suck but they are everywhere nowadays...I have so good at ignoring them that it doesn't even matter. Just have the game load up straight to the game if it is that bothersome. The dashboard to me is so not important to me that adding ads and apps doesn't effect me and almost all the gamers I play with. We turn it on, get in a party and play a game 95% of the time.

From what I read from leafans post was that the developers of those apps are getting ad money from this....good for them.

As far as GB and other games journalists....you have to really be selective on what their opinion is. They are not the average gamer and it is hard to relate to them. I watched them do a quick look of Forza 4 and OMG was Jeff and Ryan fucking idiots with that game.....they knew hardly anything and I had to just laugh at it. When they complain about the dash being a shit dash I chuckle and just think of Twigg. I know a lot of people dont like it but to me it seems kind over dramatic to say thing fucking sucks and it is HORRIBLE. Sure it is clunky but whatever.....it is not that important. The fact that I pay about $3 a month for this service......is another reason....I don't care. Let it go we know people hate it.....we don't need an update on how much it sucks every month.

I guess I'll just address why I am repeatedly being mentioned in Twigg's posts, despite not having an opinion on this matter in the slightest: Twigg, how many times do I have to say that I just don't care about the dashboard for you to get it? You keep bringing up how other people have issues, usually gaming sites/personalities, when the crux of the issue still seems lost on you, despite its simplicity: I DON'T CARE ABOUT THE DASHBOARD. This means, I don't care about ads on the dashboard, I don't care how much something is buried on the dashboard so that some shmo can't find it, I don't care that you hate it, I don't care that Giant Bomb hates it, I don't care I don't care I don't care. I have never said I loved or even liked the dashboard (in fact, I usually say the opposite) as it is fairly clunky and a little hard on the eyes, but that level of opinion is about as far as I go. It is THE DASHBOARD. Its purpose for me is to get me to the game I want to play. I am sorry, truly, that you and Giant Bomb are so worked up about the dashboard that you can barely bring yourselves to talk about it without staining your shorts and needing a tissue. But, to reiterate, I don't care.

And please try to keep from taking more of my posts out of context. I simply said that the GB guys are more entertaining to me when they AREN'T talking about video games, because a lot of times now they just seem to say outlandish, snap judgement style things. I am not insulting them as people, I am merely just saying that I personally enjoy their podcasts more when they talk about the weird random shit going on in their lives and less about games (the segment on any game podcast where people talk about what they're playing is, in my opinion, the DUMBEST thing ever and I generally find it uninteresting unless it's thoughts about a game that hasn't come out yet or a really old or obscure game).

      Anyway, yeah, carry on.

Funny that they don't mention how many downloads it was. For all I know that could mean 5k downloads.

If what I remember reading is true, it sold over 100,000 downloads on the first day. So, yeah, $1.5 million on day one for an Arcade game is pretty good and worth tooting your horn about I'd say.

No question. I just don't know why they wouldn't mention that. 100k is a shit ton considering the first GTA4 episode only sold like 25k it's first week or something.

Ah, I get what you mean now. You had me a little off what with your rampant negativity thus far in the thread

I do agree though, it's odd that they wouldn't say it. That being said, MS' for as much as they tout the Arcade, I really have a hard time understanding their procedures/reactions/expectations/etc...and from what I've read, most developers are the same.

If Twigg was a woman and the rest of you were actually men, I guess I'd be bi-sexual

The only thing that I can think is that if they release the full numbers in a press release then people are going to want to see what other high profile games sold, and apparently most XBLA games sell pretty poorly. I don't know why that is though. I was shocked to hear how poorly the GTA4 episodes sold a few years ago.

Probably because of the new dashboard.

                        Sorry, couldn't resist.

It was my attempt to get the focus off of you by diverting their attention and confusing them .

But basically, it was my way of saying that I can see the viewpoints of both sides.
