the people they are "slapping in the face" dont give a shit lol... its a marketing gimmick for MS so they can go "WE OFFER FREE GAMES TOO, JUST LIKE PS+", nothing more, nothing less... this shit is for kids and poor people (dizzle), and like i said, the majority of xbox people just shrug their shoulders and keep on happily playing, not giving a second thought to this promotion

Its laughable than because the free games Microsoft are giving away are to the people you're referring too. They are rewarding the gamers that only buy 1-2 titles a year and according to you don't give a shit and acting like they are finally giving back to the community, yet are slapping their real audience in the face by offering 7 year old games that they already own or have played or could buy for $5.
I would also like to add that PS+ could offer five free blowjobs a month and Atlas (and JMS for that matter, who I know for a fact does play a variety of games) would still claim they had no interest.Comment

You clearly don't go on much gaming websites, they are plenty, and I mean plenty that say its complete bullshit with what they are offering. You're right that this is just a silly PR move, but that doesn't disregard how shitty of a program this is.Comment

the people on gaming websites are a microcosm of gamers as a whole... the ones posting in outrage are only the ones who care enough to voice their opinions (a la twigg and you)... its a numbers game, and statistically, plenty means dick when there are 80 million xbox owners in the US... i would hazard a guess that less than 5% (maybe 10 to play it safe) of those owners are akin to you and twigg... the rest are terrible people like jms and I
edit: twigg, i would gladly have paid for ps+ if it meant the servers were better and/or there were chat abilities, among other features... i really would have paid for it if it meant i wouldnt have had to buy 4 separate consoles b/c the japs shuttered out POS that brick once a year (inb4 RROD derpdom)...
XBL is far superior to PSN IMO, which is why i didnt buy another ps3 and wont buy a ps4, after being solely a PS1/2/3 gamer for all those years... you may not agree with my opinion, but you dont need to be a fucking ornery thundercunt like dizzle about itComment

Even so, you seem to be making the argument that because majority of gamers don't care, I shouldn't be upset that the program is shit. Then why even have forums to discuss games. Lets just all shrug our shoulders and go play Defense Grid: The Awakening and than tweet a thank you to Major Nelson for making it happen, FREE OF CHARGE. What a guy.Comment

i understand why they did it, but b/c i understand why they did it, i dont care, as does anyone with a brain... if you are upset about this, its a you problem, not a MS problem...
edit: btw, i mean that generally, not as an insult to you buzzman...Comment

It is a Microsoft problem because by doing so, it makes people like myself not want to continue to support their product. By losing a customer like me, not only do they lose the short term money (for the console) but also the long term money (all the games I would've bought). I am not the only one that has this kind of thought. Sure this shit program isn't going to be the make or break thing about them that causes me to stop supporting them, but its a combination of things they do like this that causes that. Sure, they'll still manage to financially fine without me and all the others like me, but I don't know anyone who would choose to want to lose money.Comment

people feel the same way about Sony too (LIKE MEEEEEEEEEEEEE), so it goes both ways and matters very little in the long run...Comment

And LOL at you going through four PS3's but I guess you;re still on your launch 360. Speaking of being in the minority...
But I guess that would explain why you've been the ultimate Xbot as of late. Here I am thinking you still had both.Comment

But will they? There's a reason why their pre-orders for the Xbone are in the shitter and they are constantly sending me emails begging me to pre-order a day one console. They are getting desparate with this Games With Gold program.Comment

You obviously have no clue what you're talking about. Xbox Live does not offer dedicated servers in any fashion. All servers for any games are provided and maintained by the game companies themselves, regardless of the platform, with the exception of P2P games like MLB The Show that don't use servers at all.

i bought my 360 in 2011 and its fine... i went through two fat boy ps3's and two slims... and lets not act like the YLOD isnt a problem, shit there is a thread here about all the bricked consoles recently...
like i said (and you didnt read), i was sony only from the ps1 till 2011 (when i bought my xbox), so being a fucking annoying little prig all you want and call me an xbot, but its the furthest thing from the truth... just b/c i think one is better than the other doesnt make me a homer, unlike you, who blindly defends sony and shits on MS any chance you get...

yes, they will... show me concrete proof showing pre-orders are suffering (i get emails from sony making sure i preorder the ps4, so emails arent concrete)... and im pretty sure they announced games with gold before anything else at e3, so i dont understand that point...Comment

You get emails from Sony asking you to pre-order the DAY ONE console. No you don't I call bullshit. Please post a screen capture of these alleged emails. I'll gladly post the one I got from MS just yesterday.Comment
-
next time i get one, ill post it... ive gotten about three from sony to preorder one...
also, you ever think MS might just be making more DAY ONE consoles? or trying to entice people to preorder and then going AW SHUCKS, NO MO DAY ONE's, but enjoy your preorder anyways... its the basic precept of marketing, you cant be this dense...
case in point:
Hryb also noted in his tweet that the Xbox One is "sold out at most US retailers," though that seems like a stretch. Yes, launch day orders for the PS4 and Xbox One are both sold out at retailers like Amazon, Gamestop, and Toys R Us, but you can still reserve both systems at Target (Xbox One, PS4), Walmart (Xbox One, PS4), Sears (Xbox One, PS4), Kmart (Xbox One, PS4) and Fry's Electronics (Xbox One, PS4), all of which are inarguably major US retailers. Microsoft is also still selling the "Day One Edition" of the console through its own online store, suggesting that any hype about a pre-release sellout is premature at this point (Sony also still has PS4 units available on its online store, too). And while Best Buy halted its Xbox One pre-orders earlier this month, it re-opened them a few days ago, suggesting that retailer allotments are still in flux as Microsoft continues to produce the system (the PS4 is also up for order at Best Buy).
looks like they will be fine
edit: also, lol at you glossing over the server thing you whiffed on... way to try and call me out and be flat out wrong...Comment
