Anyone try Hydro Thunder out yet?

I just tried it and ZERO chance I buy it. No way it's worth $15. There is no sense of speed whatsoever. They just drew lame ass white lines on the screen to give the illusion of speed.

      Weak.

I was excited about the SoA but I'm starting to second guess it. Limbo was really cool but waaaaaay short. HydroThinder sucks balls. Monday Night Combat will probably be lame. And Castlevania and Tomb Raider will be coming out for PSN.

I know it's early but I'm already thinking last year was much better.

LOL. What is MS thinking? I just checked within the game and it says the next DLC for Alan Wake is 560 points ($7). Not that I think the price is that egregious but 1) hardly anyone bought your game so you should probably entice them with FREE content and 2) no one wants to be stuck with weird amounts of points. $7 DLC (also with the L4D games) is beyond stupid.

            Summer of Arcade...

And I'll wait and see before I judge one or the other. Splosion Man and Shadow Complex were awesome, but if you aren't a Marvel vs. Capcom fan, and if you realized that TMNT was just a game that aged very poorly, that summer as a whole wasn't great. I loved DeathSpank, loved Limbo, and imagine I'll REALLY love Castlevania, but we'll see.

Nothing is free Twigg. Soon online multiplayer will be subscription based...you might as well get out video games now. THings are only going to get more expensive and they are going to charge for everything.

No, The Signal, which is the first DLC (the one I'm playing now, if free. The second one, The Writer, is going to be $7.

Not true. Like I just said, the first DLC is free. The bottom line is that the game has sold like shit. You're going to turn even more people off who may be on the fence if you are basically telling them that if they want the whole story they need to pony up more money.

And again, my issue isn't so much with paying for the second DLC. I thoroughly enjoyed the game and don't mind paying for some extra content. It's the price point and MS's retarded point system. If I buy that I'll end up with like 1040 points. I sure can't buy a SoA game with that. And let's say I buy a $10 (800 points) game. WTF can I get with 240 points? I sure ain't buying some bullshit avatar item.

I also know about the rumored subscription based online as well. If that comes I won't be paying for it, I assure you. I don't play online much as it is now. Even if it does come there is zero chance that every game will charge you because most games don't have the pull that big games like Gears, Halo, MW, BF, etc have. But again, if by chance every game has a subscription I'll stick to single player and be fine. Also, I would imagine they would have to lower game prices anyway. No way someone is going to pay $60 just for single player (besides someone like me).

I don't think I've even seen Indie games priced at 240 points. I guess I could buy three of the 80 point ($1) ones.

So am I the only one that tried Hydro Thunder? I don't get the reviews. It's got a 77 on metacritic with a lot of established sites giving it 90's. IGN gave it a 5.5 and that's the only review I agree with.

                              Have you even looked?

                              For example

                              Soulcaster
                              Developer: MagicalTimeBean
                              Price: 240 Microsoft points ($3)

I honestly haven't checked the indie list in quite some time. There are so many games and the lack of achievements kills them for me.
