Here you go Goblin:
Sony will announce a PlayStation 3 price drop during Gamescom in August, according to a report.
Trade insiders are expecting a cut that could see the PS3 be priced at 199.99 GBP ($319) in the United Kingdom, according to MCV. That's obviously more than the PS3 currently retails for in the United States, and it's unclear if the price drop would only be for Europe or if the price would be slashed worldwide.
The most recent PS3 price cut came alongside the announcement of the PlayStation 3 Slim in August 2009. The cheapest new PS3 is the 160GB model that retails for $299.99 in the U.S. (A limited time Call of Duty: Black Ops bundle is now available for the same price and includes the game and a free map pack.)
If the price cut is made for the U.K., MCV says retailers could take it even further and offer the system for 179.99 GBP ($287). It also rightly speculates that Sony dropping the price of the PS3 could lead to Microsoft doing the same with the Xbox 360, a move that many expected to be made at E3. (The cheapest new 360 presently costs $199.99.) Nintendo dropped the Wii's price by $50 last month to $149.99.
Both Sony and Microsoft declined to address the possibility of an impending price cut. That comes as no surprise, though don't take it as a guarantee that a cut isn't coming -- Sony said it had "no plans" for a price drop several months prior to the 2009 announcement.
Gamescom is set to take place August 17 through August 21 in Cologne, Germany.Comment

You can't really blame them for having their own version of an online pass or "Operation $10". But considering that FEAR isn't the draw that Halo or CoD is I can see how it could segregate the community with used purchases.Comment

***Reminder***
Just a reminder for you guys looking to sign up for your free ID Theft protection from All Clear. I don't remember if I posted this before or not but the offer expires JUNE 28TH which is only two days from today for all you clowns without a fucking calendar.
I know I received the verification e-mail in my SPAM folder and almost missed out.
For those that don't know, once you responded to that e-mail that Sony sent out about a month ago, you would receive another email within 72 hours with a confirmation code. You then use the link in that e-mail and complete some basic information, along with the code, to get signed up for the service. The first e-mail arrived in my inbox but for some reason the one with the code was in my spam box, so be wary of that.Comment

So I just activated my free month PS+ membership this morning. I like these free 60 minute trials you can get for certain games. Downloading the trials for God of War 1 and 2. Never played them before, figured I might as well see what all the fuss is about lol.Comment

Absolutely fantastic games. Great graphics, a whole lot of violence, good story and just a lot of fun I have throughly enjoyed each of the games that I've played, including the PSP ones.Comment

I've always heard the PSP ones were actually pretty damn good. If I like these trials, I might have to pick up the PSP remakes for PS3 when they come out.Comment

My PSP is just for the two God of War games at this point, and I also have Battlefront II. I'm not into the handheld scene for gaming anymore, but I had to play those games.Comment

The two GoW games might be the two best games on the PSP. It's crazy how well they were able to translate that awesome series to a handheld.Comment
