My wife tried AC. She said she didn't like it because it was too repetitive. Do I even try to get her to play AC2 or Brotherhood?
AC has gotten better with each subsequent release. AC2 and Brotherhood also have a continuous narrative, so she should play both.

And....I just started this the other day. So far it seems like the front runner for the best game in the series. I love burning down those damn Borgia towers.

I think it's my favorite, but I waver between it and AC2 (although AC2 might be more nostalgia for me because I haven't played it in a LONG time). Been meaning to play the PS3 version, which I just discovered that I had when I moved a few weeks ago.

It really is an amazing game. So much to do and it's all so fun.

Like I mentioned on the 'cast, I think AC2's story is slightly better, but AC:B is a better overall game. Both are fantastic, though.

I havent played Assassins Creed since the first one and it was very repetitive so after playing it about halfway through i stopped playing and havent played it since. I was able to pick up Revelations at best buy free a few months ago and was curious if I should play the others before jumping into this game. Ive heard the games got much better after the first one but I dont want to be lost in the story

Yes. If you can't get yourself to finish AC1, watch some videos on the ending of it, then play AC2 on. Not only does the present day story carry over through all of them, but Ezio's story carries over from AC2-Revelations.

I'm not sure how I feel about these additional objectives with each story mission in order to get 100% sync. Some of them are bullshit and have forced me to replay the mission several times. I also don't like how these Borgia Captains run like bitches when you try to kill them. Then you have to wait until the next "shift" to try to take them out. Ugh.

The rest of the game is bowls of awesome though.

Yeah, those optional goals are bullshit. I tried to get 100% on the first Copernico mission and must've tried 50+ times. The optional goal is to not take any damage again. Meanwhile, you are ambushed by a constant stream of enemies for two minutes and have to protect Copernico. No matter how careful I try to be usually I get hit somewhere. Several times I got down to less than ten seconds before being hit. The worst was when I got through all two minutes and then got the "Finish the last guards" message. Yup, with one guard left he hits me. I was fucking raging. Needless to say I finally gave up and just finished the mission.

That stuff is annoying as fuck.

I remember reading that people trying to get 100% on all the missions have to truely put some serious time into the game and also have to be fairly good at it. I was pretty screwed for most of it mainly because I never use bombs or any weapons outside of the hidden blades.

                          Leafs offseason training!

ditto. Doing AC2 for the first time now, had it forever sitting though. Have Brotherhood sitting collecting dust too so I can hop right to that when ready.

The problem is that the game just screws you. I can't tell you how many times I try a perfect counter and Ezio takes a hit. Or when I'm in the middle of a killing animation and another enemy hits me in the back. I'm in an animation! WTF can I do?!? Then, there were a few occasions last night where I would go to counter and he would doge and then retract his blade. He kept doing it over and over. I could not figure out for the life of me what the reason was. I had my blade equipped and he just kept doing it.

Does anyone remember how I can increase my health bar? I've been playing for several hours the only armor I've been able to buy are the spaulders (sp?) for my feet. I've renovated at least five armorers and that is still the only armor piece I can purchase. WTF?
