Madden 11 Demo Impressions Thread

if anyone sees an option to shut it off please post it. It might not be in the demo but if it can be shut off that would be nice.

the gameplay itself wasnt too bad at all. I put it on fast because i like it a bit more wide open and quick. Sliders are a must. but for some reason EA only allows u to change the user difficulty....but they allow u to make cpu slider changes. idk why they didnt allow user custom difficulty/slider changes

I played on all madden in my only game so far.

-I didn't have to create anything, simple execution of the play results with gains more often than not. (follow your blockers, minimal hot routing/audibles, etc)
-Strategy pad will take some getting used to but it won't be too big of a deal IMO.
-Deep ball is tittays!

I've also come up with a logical theory as to why offline sucks so much dick this year.

Online fucking Pass.


Their whole scheme for online pass wouldn't work if Offline was legit now wasn't it? I mean, people already stray away from Online to begin with, but if they were to release this Online Pass as well as boosting the Offline game it would be counter productive to their revenue stream. When people buy it used, fuck online pass cause offline is legit, right?

I don't think they will. From what I've read it was pretty costly for EA and the NFL has the legal battles about it's exemption status for monopolizing their product.

I played it and i had fun. The commentating is worse than ever imo. And the crowd was dead silent, like practice silent when nothings going on. I like the new stadium sounds though. I just wish that the game played faster. I dont understand why NCAA plays faster than the NFL... its stupid.

How old are you? Did you play Madden with Madden announcing? That duo put me to sleep....always put the tv on mute while playing. I don't like the strategy pad....another button to press before the opposing qb hikes the ball. Maybe I just need to get used to it and memorize where everything is on the dpad.

I was actually happy with the demo other than the strategy pad and the lack of atmopashere.

More like madden 10.5 then Madden 11 but at least they've toned down some of madden 10's worst parts.

I enjoyed the demo. The strategy pad isn't a big deal, if anything it'll prevent people from being able to create nano blitzes and after a few games I started to get a hold of the controls for it. The computer plays a lot better than in years past, meaning no robo QB at all, the cpu runs the way it should etc. I'm also very pleased with how much pressure I can get and how much heat the cpu is putting on my QB. Man coverage is very nice as well as the flats. Overall I liked it.

why does anyone even say anything about gameflow? its the same feature in NCAA minus the game planning. Its stupid and nothing more than a glorified ask madden.
wtf is EA thinking that people would actually care about a stupid ass feature like that? Oh wait they need to go after the casual gamer

even if madden plays just like ncaa it wont be enough to make up for the boring delivery the developers of madden have mastered.

my DL is already at 35% and moving rapidly

Played one game of the demo.
Liked what I played.

One unusual thing - I couldn't adjust human sliders. Maybe it was just a demo thing.

Not a fan of the strategy pad, but will get used to it.

Game looks much better, I don't hate the announcing as much as last year, game plays a lot like NCAA 11 (which is a good thing).

I am really looking forward to the game.

Another thing that is very important that I liked is how you're now able to scroll through players using the A and B buttons to go back and forth. Before you could only do it with A and if you accidentally skipped over the player you wanted to user control you'd have to push that button 10 more times til you've cycled through everyone. Now you can go back and forth, it makes things much easier.

Because the stats showed that only like 250K players used the mode or some small number like that, therefore they said fuck improving it if nobody uses it.

But the catch is that it was underdeveloped, overhyped and flat out lied about to begin with....not that EA would admit it but the that's the 100% truth about it and nobody can deny that.

You could do it last year if you held down the A button and used the D pad to go left or right. Having it mapped to the A & B buttons is much better though. A solid improvement.
