Great series tonight with Rudi.

-Game 1 was a tight affair with Evan Meek almost blowing the game by giving up 2 runs to SF in the 8th. But Joel Hanrahan, who blew a save in his first opportunity against the Reds, makes up for the failure by shutting the door in the ninth to get his 1st save of the season and a 4-3 Pirates win.

-Game 2 is being reviewed by league headquarters because apparently the Tampa Bay Rays from the now-defunct Sombrero took the field in Pirates uniforms, as they simply unloaded a can of whoop-ass all over the Giants for a 16-0 drubbing. This could have easily been 20-0 or more, but the Pirates manager held up baserunners in the 8th inning as things were totally out of hand. Zach Duke goes the distance for a complete game 2-hit shutout.

-Game 3 was not what Pirates fans were hoping for, but what they have come to expect of this team after 18 consecutive losing seasons. After scoring 16 runs the game before, it looked like the Pittsburgh offense finally found a groove and would continue the hot offensive streak. But nope, the offense was simply offensive, as they managed just 5 hits and zero runs against Giants starter Jonathan Sanchez, who was masterful in his 8 innings of work against the Pirates. Ramon Ramirez mopped up the game in the 9th inning to preserve a 6-0 shutout by San Francisco. Paul Maholm pitched like complete poo, as he struggled to get anyone out.

Yeah we did our best to duplicate the stats...but when posey came up in the 9th he tried to givme a meat ball and i lined out to 2nd. lol
