LOL, what? Because I'm not sucking this game off like you? If this game was a 360 exclusive all of the idiots here would be crying that I'm "hating" on it because of that and I'm a PS3 fanboy. Why on Earth wouldI buy both versions of the game, one being a $150 CE, if I wanted it to be terrible? That make zero sense. I think I did a pretty good job of explaining why it has disappointed me so much up to that point. I didn't just say "This game is a huge disappointment. It sucks."

A lot of your complaints seem incredibly nitpicky for a guy that is willing to look the other way on some straight up piss poor design in other games. The only issue you have that I found myself commenting something similar was the disconnect of Elizabeth's emotions on the Gondola. And even then, if I recall correctly, the first time his debt is mentioned in regards to her, he's getting her out of the tower to absolve a debt. He doesn't mention anything about taking her to NY to give her up. The Gondola he straight up tells her.
Nope, not talking about that part. There is another section after that carnival type area where he straight up tells her that he was returning her to absolve a debt and there isn't much to it. Then an hour later he says the same thing and she loses her shit.

As for meentioning me forgiving other issues in games I would ask you to point them out and I'd bet that they wre all games that I got for dirt cheap and didn't have high expectations for them. Whereas this game is a AAA game that had all the hype in the World and I bought not one, but TWO copies of because I'm such a big fan of the series.

Specifically, going into an area and seeing tears all over the place makes the big battles less exciting and is very lazy design. I was always suprprised by shit in the forst two Bio games. I don't think I've been surpised once in this game yet.

It's a pretty incredible games, one of the best I've ever played, and I think you would have felt A LOT different had you not waited so long and heard everybody else's opinions on it.
That's just it, at least up to the point I was at in the game it couldn't hold a candle to Bioshock 1 or 2. Even years after release those games are still great. They grab you from the beginning and don't let go. Infinite is so fucking boring for the first five plus hours I was shocked about how much praise it got. My wife is probably the biggest Bioshock fan I know, online or otherwise, and she was thoroughly disappointed. She had crazy expectations for 2 moreso than 1 because 1 was such an unknown commodity when it released, but it still lived up to all her expectations. This game had not.

Now I will say that Stevsta appears to be right. After the Lin section the game does seem to be ramping up and getting loads more interesting. I just hope it continues on that path. The first five hours were unbelievably rote and boring.

The game had me right from the beginning (and pretty much everyone else).

What had you from the beginning? What was so enthralling? The combat is standard shooter fare and the Vigors are really just reimaginings of old plasmids from the first two games. The story for the first handful of hours was just a lot of build up and basically just history being retold. Oh, a bunch of racist assholes didn't like blacks and Irish mixing with them so they created their own utopia. Original? Not hardly. At least the Raynd objectivism stuff from the forst two games was intriguing.

But like I said, the last hour or so I played, after the Lin section, seems to be LOADS better and definitely pulling me in. I have a feeling the game will continue on that line and be the classic that I've heard incessantly it was and I hoped it would be.

The setting. All I wanted to do was explore and see what Columbia was. Such an amazing place.

I do love the setting, and in the first hour or so just marveled at all of the floating buildings. But after the newness wore off there isn't really that much to explore. Most of the store fronts and buildings are closed off. There's a pretty linear path to follow through most of the game. And like I've mentioned, it's jarring and totally takes me out of the experieence when I encounter NPC's in a building and they just stare blankly at me. I just came crashing through your roof with a sniper rifle and RPG and you don't even have a passing comment for me? It's just...weird.

Like I've said, my wife has been sitting next to me the entore time we replayed 1 and 2 and now this because she such a huge fan of the series. I've turned to her countless times and asked "Am I missing something? Am I just being a crumugeon or is this game really boring and disappointing so far?" She has agreed with me 100% and just keeps saying "I'm sure it will get better."

Not gonna lie, after the initial introduction, the time leading up until you find Elizabeth is slow.

I don't mind that it takes awhile to find her, I just wish that there was a bit more in the mean time. It's one thing when you're playing Bioshock 1 and 2 which take place in a cold and desolate world. But it's different when you're in a crowded game like Infinite and there isn't much happening.

It was slow to me up until Chen Lin.

Now that we went through another tear and the Vox are are in an uprising the game is getting really exciting. I love the alternate realities aspect.

I love and hate the tears at the same time though. They are a really cool game mechanic but the game loses all sense of suprise when everytime I walk into a new area (or revisit an old one that seems to happen often) and I see five tears ahead of me I immediatley know a big battle is coming. So much for tension.

Do you ever get a rail riding upgrade? I almost wish that when you jumped on those things that time slowed a bit or something. You whip around on them so fast you have almost no time to orient yourself to get the drop on an enemy.

And also, maybe it's just my imaginationn, but the auto-saves seem to be much more frequent now. They are still pretty spaced out but nowhere near as horrible as they were in the first several hours.

Also, once you leave an area there is no going back, correct? One of the things that I loved about the first two games was that not only was there a map but a majority of the time you could always take a bathysphere or train back to a previous area.

What with the optional side missions in this game and not knowing if the keys you just found will unlock something firther ahead or you need to backtrack to fin, makes things super frustrating.

I've already been agonizing over a room that I saw several hours back, that needed five lockpicks to enter. I think I had zero at the time (which is funny because now I have like 15) and there were no vending machines to buy them anywhere. There was definitely one of those upgrade flasks in there and who knows what else. I guess I'll never know. That just sucks.

Twigg, you have to finish the game and then it gives you the option to go back to any level. That is what I have been doing the past week or so as I have had time to unlock certain achievements that I missed the fist time through.

The second Handyman fight was a bit of a bitch. I must've died five times. Elizabeth was really letting me down neglecting to throw me health. Plus, when I would respawn the Handyman would be right in my face every time. Luckily I only had like $32 so I didn't lose much. Ha.

I upgraded the shield to the max but it still kind of blows. It only takes a few hits to completely deplete and takeforever to recharge.

That Undertow vigor is pretty bad ass.
