Online games are about to take their toll on me.
I out shoot these guys usually by double the shots, out hit guys, they are in the penalty box all the time, win almost every faceoff(do people not understand how this works?), and I will lose 3-2 or 4-3. I dont know if they are glitch goals, but the wraparound, cross crease, and the pull back wrist shot(i dont know what its called), always go in for the other team.
I played a game where I won 27 faceoffs to his 4. Out shot him 31 to 9, and he won 4-3. Serious? Looks like I am heading back to single player tourneys in HUT for a while.Comment

There's very few people on VSN that take no issue with a goal against. Everything goes in because of some bug, the AI, some glitch or cheese.
It's ridiculous. How dare teams pass through your own slot to the open man and score eh? Like really....

You shouldn't win 100% of the time when you outplay your opponent, but I would agree that too often you don't win in this situation.Comment

Cross crease - no point in complaining about that. It is here to stay and has been since nhl09. It is not going anywhere, and well, by now if you don't know how to defend it, then sucks to be you.
'rocket' wrist shots - these are 50/50. Some can be glitch, some are goalie AI sucking. Again though, I have found when playing guys, they will pull this shit all the time in a game, and it because so easy to defend as you know that is all they do to score.
Wrap arounds - same as everything else. In the game, has been for while, but so easy to defend because people make it so obvious that they are going to do this to score.
Plus I will just say, you must be against a red hot goalie every game OR you are just firing the puck on net, because that many shots should get you more goals. Maybe what you need to work on is holding onto the puck. The longer you have it, the less they don't. What is your time on attack like? All you need to know when thinking of the NHL vs Madden series is the two people involved in making the games.
"rammer" and "cummings"
The NHL series is a giver, Madden takes the load.Comment

My goals usually consist of a bunch of things. I like to slapshot with my D and either play a rebound with the forwards. Or I take my forwards and try to "juke" my defenders and get a nice opening in front of the goal. Most of these same guys chase around on D and I can get a nice pass to someone right in front of goal. Also break aways get me a good amount of goals cause I have a bunch of great "dekers" on my team. Will either get a goal and usually a penalty shot since these guys dive all over the place.
Ive never had a problem scoring goals this year. My time on attack is usually double their's as well. I remember a couple that I have played that stuck out are 11 min to 4 min. Usually I am double them as well.
I do fire on goal a lot. Not always a great scoring opportunity but when I used to struggle in NHL10, my first hockey game, I would try to only shoot on good opportunities. Now I shoot a lot because the more you shoot the more chances one will go in.
And regards to the tuner question, most were last night and two have been today.Comment

The more I play this game offline the more it pisses me off. I feel like I'm playing guys online that just hold the puck and do circles around my zone and constantly try to dangle/deke every where. My own computer players don't do shit for me, so I'm stuck trying to play all 5 guys at once while the opponent computer figure skates around my zone making these miracle passes through my players. I thought the passing was fine but again, playing it more offline it sucks. It feels like my player has to have the puck for more than a second before I can pass it again. The one touch passes are just weak and go about a foot before they are intercepted. I've noticed my own goalie doing stupid shit. About 3 times in one game when the puck was going behind my net the goalie would come out of the net and then it wouldn't try to stop the puck and then get stuck behind the net leaving me with an empty goal to defend. EASHL is the only thing I'm actually enjoying.

I've been getting the frozen load screen for drop-in and OTP games all day, anybody figure out how to circumvent that?Comment

Is anyone else disappointed with this game?
I played the shit out of 09 and 10. Year to year with both of them.
I'm not digging this one. It's just whatever to me. It's kind of boring to be honest. I've played about 20 games and I don't even care about winning or losing.
And I don't even have anything to complain about. The game is far more realistic than last years. I think it's just too slow for my liking or something. I can't quite put my finger on what exactly I don't like about it, I just don't find it all that fun. I play a 2-3 games and I'm bored. I used to play 5-10 games a day on NHL 10 with ease.
Also, just played today with the new tuner and scoring seems easier. Dumb Niemi got beat 3 times on 3 shots from 3 weak ass deke moves. Bad defense on my part, but it feels like they've dumbed down the goaltending and defense a little bit.
One more thing - I hate the passing in this game. It is delayed. There is no such thing as one touch passing and it just slows down the game and makes it painful to cycle the puck or set something up. My only real complaint but it's a huge one.Comment
