Probably waiting on a sale. It seems all of the HD collection drop in price quick and my backlog is immense.
But how about playing the new Uncharted co-op DLC tonight? Hell, I wouldn't mind running through the original scenarios either because it's been so long since I played them.Comment

Well, my impression of SOCOM 4 is that it's really quite good. The campaign is solid. I actually enjoy the stealth section because they are pretty tense. Playing the co-op scenarios is a lot of fun as well. I only played one MP match and that seemed good as well.Comment

I got every trophy in SOCOM except for playing all of the mp modes and beating it on Elite. Playing the mp modes is no big deal. I think I have two out of the required four, even though there are actually tons more modes with all the variations. But Elite can blow me. That game was crazy hard on Normal. Hell, even replaying some of the missions on Easy to trophy hunt was bullshit at times. I played one mission on Elite because there was a trophy for beating one mission, and I wanted to break my controller. You literally take two or three bullets and you're dead. And while you can revive your teammates they can't do the same for you.:srs: Some of the firefights in that game are fucking intense on Normal. On Elite, I can only imagine.
With that out of the way, I wanted to start ME2. Prior to SOCOM I was on a Xbox kick. The last several games I've played through were all on Xbox. Now it seems everything I want to play is on PS3. I want to play ME2, GoW: Ghost Of Sparta, Sly 3 and the Jak & Daxter Collection whenever I get it. I also still have Ico/SotC. So anyway, I wanted to start up ME2 but ran into a snag. I popped in the disc and of course it needed an update. That took aboout 15 minutes. Then it needed to install. Another 15 minutes. Then I had to punch in my code for the Cerberus Network and download that content. The problem is that I had already queued up a free map pack for SOCOM that was fairly substantial. So I was going to have to wait for that to finish downloading before the Cerberus stuff even started. I figured it didn't really matter because I thought the Cerberus shit was just extra fluff stuff. I had a conversation with Jay while playing Uncharted 3 co-op (which halted the downloads btw) and he gave me tips on what decisions to make during the interactive comic. We wrecked shit in co-op arena by the way. ;) I start the game and during the opening cut scene I hear dialogue of how I let the council die and some other bad shit. I remember Jay telling me that one of the decisions in the comic was to decide whether the council should live or die. I text him and ask when the comic is supposed to start and he says after the ship explodes. But based on the dialogue I'm getting the default "FailShep" playthrough. I realize that the comic is part of the Cerberus download and obviously hasn't been added to the game yet.
So after all that I decide to start Ghost of Sparta while the Cerberus shit is downloading and now I'm balls deep in that shit. I fucking love the GoW games. Kratos is the fucking man. I fucking love the part where Athena, who always seems to take the part of s talking statue, is chastising Kratos for the decisions he's about to make. She's blabbering on and on and Kratos just destroys the statue with his blades. Awesome. I also love how he doesn't give two fucks about anyone else. There is a part where there is a dude trapped in a crack in a wall trying to escape a raging inferno. He's pleading for help. Well, you need a weight to place on this floor lever so of course you just drop this giant counterweight on the dude as he pleads to spare his life. You then use his dead body to place on the floor lever to progress.
So yeah, it shouldn't take me but maybe another day tor two to finish GoS and then I'll finally be on to ME2.Comment
