Did you ever think of cleaning up some of that junk before transferring? Anyway too late now. 300 GB is not that much......what rate are they transferring at 1KBPS.

Believe it or not that actually give cops days off every once in a while.

I thought about it but I'm leary of it because I know if I delete something I'll forget all about it and pretty much everything I have on there are games that I've bought that I haven't finished or even played. I should've went through and deleted more install data though.

I have no idea what the speed is because it doesn't tell you. All you have is a progress bar with an estimated time and completion percentage. Of course the estimated time just keeps fluctuating and never seems to dip too far under EIGHT HOURS.

The consoles are directly connected via an ethernet cable. I have no idea what's so jacked up.

That insult is so 1990's. No one uses that anymore. ;)

So anyway, Driver: SF is a blast. Online with JMS and Garrett was a lot of fun last night. After those two curmudgeons jumped offline because it was their bedtime, I fired up the single player. The story is of course ridiculous, but the gameplay is sk addicting. You just want to keep doing "one more mission". The swap feature, or whatever it's called is so easy and fun to use. If it wasn't for the fact that it was after 3am and I needed to catcb up on Top Shot, I might still be playing it.

I also finally started Outland. That game is awesome. I only just finished the first boss so I'm sure it's going to get tougher. But everything about it is great: art style, controls, exploration.

I have also really been enjoying the tour mode in NBA Jam.

So, a little update on my PS3 transfer. Yesterday evening it was at 94%. That's right, if you've been keeping track that was FOUR DAYS. It actually had been slowly inching towards 100% complete so I didn't want to fuck with it. Well, this afternoon I check and it's still at 94%. I called Sony and of course they said there is no way the transfer should take this long, no matter how much data you have. They had me cancel it and reformat both hard drives. When I did that it said thatsome info on the original HDD was corrupted, which Sony said may have been causing the transfer problem. After reformatting I went in and deleted a bunch of Game Data files for games that I haven't played in years. Now I'm down to about 240GB? They still seems crazy but oh well. I'm going to start the transfer again tomorrow and see how that goes. I figure I need to give the consoles a break after being on constantly for five days. Fuck me.

                    Wish me luck.

Twigg exhibited some patience with that. I would have waited a day-and-a-half max before trying something else.

I was mostly concerned that I would lose shit if I canceled the process early. And since it was actually making progress, albeit ridiculously slow, I didn't want to fuck it up. The Sony rep informed me that the data remains on the original console until the process is 100%the complere, then it gets wiped.

Does anyone think that the ethernet cable I'm using has anything to do with it? I just bought a cheap one from monoprice.com.

Hey, after 10 hours I finally got that perfect hunter achievement. That was so damn frustrating.

So my PS3 transfer nightmare continues.

After another two days of trying (third attempt?) and it being stuck at 93% I cancel out and decide to delete as much Game Date as possible. Going through the list and I get near the end. I go to delete Resistance 3, which is a 2500+ MB file. Fairly large but definitely not the biggest. MNR was well over 4 GB. Well, when I go to delete it it just gets stuck on "Deleting- Please wait" with the swirling clock. I wait about twenty minutes and nothing. I call Sony and they tell me to turn off the console. When I turn it back on I see that they file is now corrupted. The Sony guys says that is probably what has been holding up my transfer all this time but when I reformatted the HDD (several times) it should've automatically deleted corrupted files, which is also what the guys told me last week. He tells me to manually delete the file and start the transfer again. Well, I go to delete it and again I get the "Deleting-Please wait" for an inordinate amount of time. After putting me on hold for several minutes the guy basically just tells me my only option is to transfer all the files one by one using a flash drive or using an external hard drive. Are you kidding me? So I can't delete this file at all? He basically tells me it;s a glitch that he's never heard of or encountered before. Riiiiiiight. So I ask them if at the very least they can give me the $60 3 year warranty they tried to sell me the previous week for free, considering all the problems I've had and the fact that this new console has been running constantly. They flat out tell me no. Nothing to offer whatsoever. In this department, Sony has the worst customer service I've ever encountered. They couldn't care less about appeasing their loyal customers.

So I try one more time. I go to delete the corrupted file, which after two more reformats is now down to 1800 MB, and after waiting 20+ minutes it finally deletes. Dodged that bullet. I check and see that I know how 110 GB free of a possible 298. I start the transfer process again and within about six hours it's up to 76% and looking good. I wake up about five hours later and it's sitting at the now famous 94%. If this thing doesn't progress any further I honestly don't know what else to do. The one positive thing is that it says the estimated time for completing is something like 40 minutes. Now I know that is complete bullshit but it is way shorter than previous times. The first transfer attempt I never say that estimation go below seven hours. The third attempt it never went below four hours.

So I'm crossing my fingers and hoping this shit finally works because I'm beyond aggrevated at this point. I really want to finish up Splinter Cell 1, start Prototype 2 and definitely want to start playing Starhawk.
