i cant say i am as excited about this game let alone MP. this is a red flag to me that ME3 will be a copy cat of ME2. Thats ok because ME2 was great, but that also means ME3 will be less than ME2. its hard to be a copy cat and be as good as what was already fantastic.
ME2 had an terribly stripped down RPG aspect that was somewhat disappointing. What really worries me is what bioware did to DA2. It shows a pattern of lazyness and their need to just make money off the name
people could say ME3 will make money no matter what. But bioware knows that and is going to be looking for max value.
bethesda seems to be the only one left not trying to rape their fans with corporate greed.
Actually I don't know where you are getting this "pattern" from because all you have is one example.., Bioware has a strong history of polish and quality with DA2 being the first real rush job that I'm aware of.
If ME3 was being forced out in November, I'd be concerned, but it's not.
ME2 was less RPG than ME1 and more of an RPG/Action/3PS hybrid...and they were right to do it as it worked out very well, the game is more suited to being a hybrid genre. Those removed RPG elements weren't really "good" in ME1 in the first place, so I'm not missing them in ME2.Comment

i didnt like the inventory screens either. But ME2 wasnt even like a rpg. they stripped it down way to much. I also was not saying the article read like it was a cash grab. But lets face it, bioware had developed a win with ME2 and used it for DA2 and in turn will use it for ME3. Thats screams of cash grab all the way
idk what makes you think that just because this is their baby that they will not use it to turn a serious profit. They are a business and they did it once already with DA2.....its the american way
As far as the rest, I guess I'm not seeing ME3 as just ME2.5 which sounds like how you're viewing it. Nothing that I've seen has suggested that that would be the case.
Off topic: how would you have liked ME2 to be "less stripped down"? ME was never an RPG like say, DA was. All they really took away were needless drawn out menu options and a lot of worthless powers and character point slots. Now, personally I would like a few more item customization options weapon-wise (as it sounds like they're doing for 3) but I wouldn't consider not having those for 2 as an example of it being "stripped down". As KG said, it just worked much better the way they did it (after all, there is a reason why it's 10x better than ME1).
Also, DA2 is MUCH MORE stripped down in comparison to DA1 than ME2 to ME1. And I even LIKED DA2. It just had some REALLY silly stuff that just screamed "rush job" where as ME2 never felt like that. DA2 was in a lot of ways a step back from ME2/DA, back to the jumbled mess of ME1 (fuck me those repeated dungeons were just a massive headshaker).Comment

Oh and for the record, the cash grab on DA2 failed miserably as by week 10, DA:O had outsold DA2 by 1 Million. This will collectively hurt this week's DA2:MOA DLC sales as well as make it harder to push future DA products.
EA will have a hard time going that route again.Comment

you guys have alot of faith in these developers. i dont. i look at the reality of developing a game and i see the entire industry following the same trends. Bioware is also following that trend.
you guys are claiming that i am basing it on 1 example. But at the same time you are countering that by saying they have a history of creative whatever. which is bullshit. Bioware is now under the EA umbrella. whatever they did before that is irrelevant. since joining with EA they are 1-1. a win for ME2 and a loss for DA2.
thats means they have a 50-50 shot at putting out something that isnt a let down. Which is all i am saying. That ME3 isnt offering me anything that gets me excited and i am certainly not convinced that this will be better than ME2. If DA2 wasnt such a major let down then i wouldnt be worried.
But seeing how they butchered that game by using the same concept as ME2 (only worse) makes me worry that they will do the same with ME3
i guess whats so shocking is how you guys are arguing your points by having faith in a gaming company. We all loved IW and red octane 4 years ago...look where they have gone. Not to mention EA and how they raped the industry. you guys have faith in our banking industry tooComment

I have a hard time putting BioWare in the same breath as Madden, considering they are responsible for game after game of mine that are among my favorites of all time (BG1&2, Neverwinter Nights and expansions, MDK2, KoTOR, and Jade Empire to name those that came before ME1, 2, and DA). Of the games that they've made that I've played, the only real hiccup was DA2 and like I said, I even LIKED that game. Bioware is no stranger to the sequel, nor successful RPGs. The fact that DA2 was rushed means literally nothing to the success of ME3.
That's even made greater when you consider the fact, again, that DA and ME developers within Bioware aren't the same core group of people. DA2's failings, regardless of its streamlined similarities to ME2, mean nothing for ME3 IMO.Comment

There is no fucking pattern here.

Your comparing apples to oranges. Sports titles are on specific timelines with limited development, other games are not. Massive difference.Comment

Once is not following a trend. For fucks sake man. How are they following a trend when ME3 has been in development for 2.5 years, is clearly not being rushed at all by coming out way past holiday season in bloody March....like what the fuck crack are you smoking?
There is no fucking pattern here.
It's not bullshit because ME3 and SWTOR are not following the mistake made by DA2. So again, put down the rock.
This 50:50 suggestion is based upon one hell of a weak argument. DA and ME are not designed by the same teams. Are NHL/FIFA designed by the same teams as NCAA/Madden? NO! Are they even remotely close in quality? NO! Why do you think that is you moron? Does NHL/FIFA suck because Madden/NCAA does? NO! Their success are not intertwined.
This doesn't make any fucking sense. Because they decided to go from RPG to RPG/Action/3PS in ME2...then copied it with DA2...you are worried they are going to do the same to ME3? What the fuck are you even saying? How can they do to ME3 what they've already fucking done to the franchise!
I have faith in the banking industry, the world leading Canadian banking industry. Derp.
I can't believe you're so much of a moron to take that quote out of context and apply it to those franchises. Good grief.

i said my peace...dont like it? ok....want to talk about it semi intelligently? sure, but only after you lose the im taking my ball and going home mentalityComment

yeah i have seen all that. the weapons and powers screens are nice. its still streamlined but has depth compared to ME2.
everything else looks just like ME2 and seems solid.
