Here's what I recall from last night...took around an hour or so to complete it.

You return to Eden Prime, a small colony. Find out Cerberus has found a Prothean pod that's still active but haven't been able to access it yet. Mash through a bunch of Cerberus goons with an Atlas at the end of it. You get some flashbacks that only you can understand because you've touched the Beacons before. You get to see this particular Prothean in his final stages of fighting Collectors prior to going into the pod. Once you've defeated the Cerberus troops, you unlock the Prothean and bring him on your ship to be a teammate. You can converse with him to hear him speak of Prothean life, yadda yadda. He has an alright weapon that is added to your armory but I'm all about biotics so I don't use it. I would imagine there's some conversations that could be had should you take him to the right places, similar to ME2 taking Legion on the Flotilla? I'm not sure yet. If you're wondering why there's gap in your teammate selection screen in the middle, or why that room (Grunt's room from ME2) is empty, well that's what (Javik) goes there.

For me it's been worth it just for the additional backstory and such. I find it really disappointing this wasn't just part of the game. From a value per content/time point of view, it's a rip off, but that's the DLC market.

It takes less than an hour if you aren't searching every corner of free gun parts/war assets.

The "final stages?" Less than 5.

The DLC Character is badass though. Way better than the two in ME2. I am surprised at well he is integrated into the game.

Agreed. It is much better done than in ME2. I kind of liked Kasumi though...

Anyone saying Javik's gun is "alright" just hasn't upgraded it enough. My Javik's PR V rips through organic enemies like a machete through cream cheese. The guy does serious damage.

Just had a moment with Conrad Verner. I'll have to play through the game a few more times before I say this definitively, but as of right now: I am blown the fuck away by how small choices play out in this game. Some instances aren't necessarily mind blowing, but technically they're all impressive because I really don't know how they managed to make a game that could change so significantly (seemingly) depending on the choice you made.

I'm definitely going to have to play through this again.

Yeah, I figured, but it won't be until my other playthrough. The save I had for my first character is before that DLC's release.

Finished my Renegade-lite run on Insanity without doing more than one or two of the sidemissions and not touching the multiplayer. I missed my goal of getting the worst ending unfortunately.

I'm impressed by how many sidemissions there are though. That's going to make my more comprehensive playthrough more interesting when I get around to doing it.

I'll also say that Insanity difficulty has its fair share of hair pulling moments whether it's relentless grenade spam at certain areas or fending off multiple Primes/Banshees/Brutes at once. I'm probably going to lower it for subsequent playthroughs.

In advance, you get Spectres, Kasumi, Hanar/Drell support, a wad of credits and some XP for your trouble.

I won't spoil the story but Bioware's genuinely got me nervous...

I'm probably going to be out of town for the weekend. So I'll probably start playing multiplayer next week.
