The house in Markarth has the Enchanting and Alchemy. Everything else is in town, no need to spend gold on it. I've found a smelter in Markarth so as far as I know this is the best place for me to own a house.
Also don't be a cunt, people were trying to save you money. Your fake, infinite money.
now that will be helpful. thanks. i have not been to that city yet. i have a quest to get there though...plus this will make it a priority now

Well I've beaten the main quest on my level 30 character and you get a couple shouts from that, also I've been on an expedition for the words. Just talk to Arngeir at High Hrothgar and see if he's located any words of power, he'll mark it on your map. Go find it then come back and he'll show you another place to go, etc.
BTW, I rerolled a high elf the other day. Been playing him ever since. Meet Titus.
Name: Titus
Race: High Elf
Lvl: 18, Magica 300, Health: 150, Stamina: 100
55 Enchanting: no perks taken yet.
53 Smithing: Steel, Dwarven, and Orcish Smithing so far.
43 Restoration: Novice Restoration, Regeneration, and Recovery.
30 Destruction: Novice Destruction, Destruction Dual Casting, and Apprentice Destruction.
21 Heavy Armor: No perks taken yet.
22 Alchemy: Probably won't take any perks here, ever.
28 Speech: No perks.
29 Lockpicking: no perks this time!
26 Sneak: No perks.
16 Archery: No perks. (yet? IDK, Archery is awesome, with the ability to slow down time as you zoom, and pick off from a distance, I might go into this later on. For now I want to get into heavy armor and become a dark-paladin type.)
Free Perks: 8.
I was given the strat guide its got a giant map with all the locations and tells you how to make every potion. its almost 700 pages long, if you have a question about the game pm me.
I typically do have a follower, but often times they are near the max of what they can hold too. lol I pick up to much shit I think. But I got tons of cash flow, so what ev's.
Being somebody who rarely/never used any magic in Oblivion or Skyrim, what do you guys think is the most fun or beneficial mage skills to level up? I figure since my archery skills are pretty high I'd start working on mage skills.

Since you're already an archer, try Conjuration. You can conjure a flame atochran, and later a nice tank that can get out in front of you and dominate with the frost atochron. From what I understand the high lvl conjure spells seem awesome. You can have up to two conjurations at a time, zombies/undead, flame/frost/storm atochran's, and I read somewhere you can have a dragon lord or some shit later too.
Destruction is of course going to deal the most damage, but you're already an archer, so what do you need that for?
Alteration is blah, illusion is meh, and everybody should be have a little restoration, if nothing else but to get the magicka regeneration up to 50% in 3 perks.
So I killed a dragon in Whiterun and left the corpse literally right in front of my house. Every time I load the town - so arrive in town or walk out of a building - its moving. The last time it actually looked like it was trying to stand up. Went from amusing to kinda creepy.
