Pretty cool so far. Really like the blacksmith feature. Couldn't afford Iron Armor but was able to make it by buying cheaper supplies.

Done playing for now. Basically just been exploring the northern area of the game. In the town of Dawnstar right now. Game has frozen up on me twice while I was just walking around.

Some cool things I've seen. I'll put it in spoilers but none of it has to do with the main quest, just cool shit.

While wandering the Northern shoreline I came upon a corpse that was burned and the grass around it was on fire. Guessing a dragon did this and I just missed it.

Something called an Ice wraith absolutely murdered me in about 2-3 hits.

Found two Imperial soldiers randomly standing near a cliff in the middle of nowhere.

In one Northern town an Imperial soldier came into the town and the guards immediately attacked and killed him.

While fighting a bandit on a tower, I knocked her off and she plummeted to her death.

Simply enjoying this game. I have a lvl 7 Khajiit pure thief. From the opening quest I went to Whiterun and ransacked the place and then searched out the Thieves guild. Took me awhile to figure out how to approach the second mission (no spoilers) after initiation.

There were about 100-150 people at my store as well. Moved quick though as I was able to get back in just under an hour (20 minute drive to store, 15 minutes in line, 20 minute drive back.)

one thing that bothers me is the lack of custom load outs or even being able to preset weapons or spells to the dpad or buttons.

they have the back button being used just for waiting. and the B button used for the items menu. but then they also have more menus under the start button. imo things like waiting do not need their own button and could be put into the pause menus with all that other stuff. Same with the B button items menu, all that stuff could be put into the pause menu.

then those buttons could be used to have a quick button to equip a weapons set, or spells. Right now you have favorites by pushing up on the DPad. this pauses things so you can equip a favorite weapon. but then the down, left and right dpad are not being used at all. Why not allow people to use those for load outs?

even oblivion had the dpad utilizing quick choice options so you can select things on the fly real time

This bothered me at first too but then I realized that it's a quick one button push to bring up the "favorites" menu. While it's not the D-Pad load out which I was a huge fan of it still has it's uses and you can essentially create that custom load out you're looking for Maynard.

With my pure thief I keep my Bow, Daggers (duel wield), and Boots (for stealing) hot keyed in the favorites menu to easily pull them up when I need to switch load out or remove my boots for stealth.

Eventually though if you're looking to add 8 things (like the d-pad) to your list things could seem a little cluttered. Especially when you're loading up on potions, poisons, soul gems, etc.

I didn't like it at first either but it is fluid once you get the hang of putting things in the favorite menu for quick equip/unequip.

Started out as a dark elf last night and played for about an hour. Didn't get very far at all, only to the first little village after the tutorial part. Think I'm gonna restart this morning though, something about playing as a balanced class just wasn't working for me. I'd rather pick a race more suited for a certain class and then just end up playing through the game 2-3 times as a warrior, mage and stealth based character.

Level 4, almost 5 Redguard Warrior.

Did my first dungeon last night before bed. Loving this game.

Decided to be a Dark Elf.

So far my set up is Fire Spell in left hand and Iron Sword in my right hand. Doing me justice as of yet, I've only died once.

                                Picture of my character below.
