There is a glitch/hack/exploit/loophole? to boost speech in about 30-45 minutes if you are so inclined.

I think the speech trainer is some wandering asshole you see randomly on the paths.

There is a bards college in Solitude, I assume there would be a speech trainer in there.

Yeah the Khajit? I think one of them trains sneaking or something too they have a caravan, bumped into them 3-4 times. I decked out my house in Whiterun and have the place fully stocked with weapons and armor I've made and enchanted, found the Banishment spell to enchant with so they are worth quite a few bucks. Problem is only a few people have enough money to afford one. (about 1,200-1,400 per)

The speech trainer in Windhelm is on the Dark Elves side of town in one of the stores.

Now that I have a house neither of these is an issue for me.

I just store everything there and most of the time I'm walking around at half capacity.

Since I have a house with a ton of stuff stored there I don't need money really either.

Since I don't need money, I don't even bother taking stuff off of dead enemies a lot of the time. Unless it's worth a ton.

And since I don't need to take stuff off of them I've gotten into the habit of sneaking past people and avoiding fights. I only kill if they're an easy mark, impossible to get around, have something I need or are a target.

And since I avoid enemies even less of a reason to have a companion.

I ended up getting my speechcraft up by abusing the cheat in Riften. I was trying to avoid so, but then I read about how selling things to merchants gains you XP in speech, but based on the size of the item and only per interaction. So I ended up exiting the conversation constantly when selling stuff, just to exploit that. I figured that was cheap enough, so might as well just go the cheaper and easier route.

Just did the quest that took me to Blackreach. Awesome. Amazing atmosphere there. I ended up going right back afterward just to explore it a bit more.

Holding off on this game until Christmas though. I'm using my friends copy and I'm pretty sure I got it for Christmas so I don't want to get any farther.

Is Bards College actually in Solitude or is it on the outer walls or something?
