I made Legendary glass armors and Sword... waiting to get my alchemy up for fortify enchantment to get stronger than +15%. Prob going to make new armor and swords of glass too because I made a fortify Smithing with +62%, should be able tog et that even higher. Wanted to use the Dragonbane enchantment but it looks like you can't learn that enchantment.

Just finished the main quest.
Meh. The whole "shout 3 times and Alduin will appear" objective was silly, and Alduin didn't take too long to kill once I used Dragonrend. Pretty disappointing but the main quest is never the best part of TES games anyway.Comment

Three days and no updates to this thread? THREE DAYS?
Bought the house in Solitude, so I now have 3 of the available 5. Still have over 100k gold after that. Money has lost its value in the game (wish I had that problem for real). Just hit Level 50. I'm holding off on finishing the main quest like but I'm done most of the faction quests, so I'm just doing side quests and such. Still wanna create the most killer amor possible, and I'm getting my Alchemy and Enchanting skills up to do it, but there are still a number of perks I want in both. Might need to do some random rampaging to get some lower-level skills up a bit.Comment

im really wondering if its worth it to buy a house since i finally have enough money. i think im going to since im always struggling with being able to carry things around even though ive upgraded my stamina more then anything else.
any reason i might not want to? im still only level 12 and $5,000 is a lot of loot to plunk down at this point.Comment

$5k just gets you the house. You also need to plunk another stack of cash to decorate, so you have a lot of storage containers, bookshelves, etc. Is it worth it? Depends on what you are struggling to lunk around. I found it pretty helpful from the early going as I could stash heavy stuff like dragon bones, dragon scales, metal ingots, and rare weapons (a lot of which got disenchanted later anyway) that I didn't want to sell.
The easy way to look at it - is there something else specific you are going to be plunking down that money for right away? Besides, you can always focus on quests to generate some ca$h if you need - the thieves guild and dark brotherhood are good for that.Comment

Some of the other places are a bit swankier and you should be able to afford them down the road. They have weapon display racks and manequins to show off armor. Sweet stuff.
Don't sweat money too much, as there are plenty of ways to make swag in the game if you don't mind grinding a bit. Smithing, alchemy, and enchanting can all be used to make cash - combining smithing and echanting is a good way to go about it. Also...
If you join the Thieves Brotherhood and run through the "upgrading the guild" sequence, one of the rewards is that any fence has $4k gold. So selling off a bunch of stuff at once becomes much much easier and your pockets will overlow.
Edit - also, keep an eye on what you are carrying around and what you actually make use of. I recently realized how many potions I was lugging around. Sold a bunch of potions recently and freed up about 15 lbs of carrying space.Comment

Just started getting back into this last night (after literally a month according to my last save) and I'm hooked again. Also bought the Breezehouse (Whiterun) and all the decorations and what not. All I know is Alchemy is the way to make BANK.

if you level up your speech skill you can invest 500 gold into them so they always have an extra 500 gold and buy stolen loot from you...plus the speech skill can be leveled up to where every vendor will have an extra 1000 gold
the only gripe i have is you cant add an enchanting table in the home. u have to run up to dragonsreach to use theirs.....but aside from that its well worth it for the forge and vendors all being right there for about 6000 total
buy itComment
