We need solid forum contributors like NAHSTE & goblin, forum regs are always more reliable and easier to hook up with. I think we can pull this off, assuming the game is still awesome and people like it.

With that said, anyone want to run a few tonight on '10? The fiance is in San Antonio with her family for a few days, and I've got nothing to do. I WILL FACE ALL COMERS WITH HARANG CHANGEUP CHEESE.

If I still had MLB 10 I would be down, maybe I'll see if I can buy it used for cheap.

Traded in a bunch of stuff a while back and included it in that move, not a good choice despite not being as happy with the upgrade from 09. Every EA game was an epic fail IMO so I'm not playing any sports games right now which sucks.

As long as money flows aren't a problem, I'll be in on the league. I've been in one for the past few months with a bunch of people from UWGB, but a 162 game schedule is so damn tough. We're nearing the all-star break right now and it's actually still very active with 3-4 games a week and no one really holding it down by not playing.

I'm playing with the Reds just for you W2B ;) Edison Volquez is 13-1 so far with a 1.89 ERA...jizz. Jay Bruce is 3rd in the league in home runs with 23 (Prince Fielder is #1 with 31, and 2nd place is Adam Dunn with 25).

                Here is a tip.

When batting with Rolen, sit on low pitches. Just hold down the stick, and don't swing until you get something low in the zone. Rolen absolutely destroys anything down.

Also, Orlandoo Cabrera is a lethal bunter. Can't tell you how many runs I have manufactured online like this:

                -Phillips leadoff double
                -Cabrera sac bunt
-Votto sac fly/4-3 ground out RBI

And L. Nix kills righties off the bench. Lethal LH PH.

As long as those with commish power (please dear god allow more than ONE!) then simming could ultimately NEVER happen.

Someone can't be available? Ok, boot, opponent plays CPU, and the league doesn't flinch.

Because of these factors, I'm more partial to the longer season because I prefer having mini-series vs your opponents, multiple ones, I'm not in a rush to finish it.

It really doesn't matter if half the guys who start this league flake, if this league comes down to the 6 or so guys who we know won't quit, because you can always progress and play your games now that CPU is enabled. I personally have no problem with that.

So having said that, length is ultimately up to us, but shouldn't be viewed as a "concern" that may destroy the league because it no longer can from the sounds of it.

Personally, my ideal VSN baseball season would look like this.

March - 4 Week long Release Day roster tournament.
April, May, June - 30 Team, 10 Week long reg season (3-4 games a week), with 2 week long playoffs (using opening day or whatever rosters we like)
July, August, September - Same as above.

Again, just my preference. I wouldn't care if it was just 6-10 humans and the rest CPU, lot easier when you don't have to match up with a human every time for scheduling.
I like the tournament at the beginning to get guys off and running. But I think shorter seasons is the way to go here. A longer season just is too much for these mooks who A) are losing, B) have short attention spans, and C) are losing.

A shorter season would keep things competitive longer (more teams alive for playoff spots) and hopefully we could get in more seasons so more guys could get into the league. Or maybe just run multiple leagues.

I also hope we don't have to mess with LEAGUE DADDY!

I've been starting Nix against RHP and Stubbs against LHP. We're using default rosters btw which is kind of shitty but oh well. I use Anderson as my everyday CF....just had a lot of success with him. .298 hitter with 31 SB.

And for those that give a rat's rear end, I still love to play this game online! (when I can find the time) Those that still play online are extremely competitive and quite good at this game. I bet I've gotten in at least ten games in over the last week. If they only fix the online stuff I would be happy. I really don't need any of the analog pitching/hitting stuff. But I still will get this when it comes out in March.

I wish MLB The Show would show us timing hitters some love.

I don't want to aim my cursor or what-not.

Unfortunately, (or fortunately in your case) the article gave me the impression that this game is leaning more towards a timing-based batting system with the analog controls. It did say there would be zone hitting with the analog swing "for the die hards" but that has to be brutally difficult. I imagine you'd have to use both analog sticks at the same time to hit the ball? I can't see many people succeeding at that. I really hope there is still the option to use zone hitting with the button for swinging. That system is perfect to me. Timing based is just too basic, it takes pitch placement out of play and makes it too arcade-like IMO.

We'll see. I can't wait to take the field with the gutted Rays and see if I can still kick ass.

yeah they are perfect....but that scheme of playing baseball is just old and boring for alot of people. the only thing i wanted was analog pitching to make me feel like my stick movement would be a factor in pitching rather than just pushing a button. But to my surprise, this dev team really isnt doing anything to analog control that is worth doing. up/down is a weak attempt imo.

the good news for you is you still have the choice to play the standard way, or the analog way
