if u can deal with dated games and graphics then sure...but if not, i wouldnt get them.

but both games were excellent. they took all the great aspects from several sandbox games and built it into their own game. Sure they are similar to GTA in so many ways. But cheap knock offs? no way dude.

SR2 was way better than GTA4. The controls, missions, difficulty and fun factor. The story in 1 was really good and had a great ending. SR2 was a continuation and was good although not a memorable story

these games are all about crime and killing innocent people. Stealing cars and getting chased by police...so story is secondary imo.

one thing i loved about SR2 was the ability to join a friends game with my character. similar to crackdown where u could jump in at any time and play there game with your friend

no doubt that SR3 will be excellent

Best way I can sum it up as that GTA takes itself too seriously while trying to garner as many awards as they can. Saints Row knows its not serious, and is extremely over the top to make as fun a game as possible.

I don't even think I finished a quarter of the game to be honest. It just moved so slowly and, unlike Saints Row where they are hilarious side missions/activities to get you back to the main story, the same activities for GTA are just as slow and boring as SR is exciting.

That is not to say I hate GTA, I just didn't like GTAIV. Vice City and San Andreas remain my favorite games and I still play them once in a while just to roam around.

Seems SR2 was more "GTA" than GTA IV. If I have time, I'll go back and play SR and try to get over that initial hump that I experience for any sandbox game.

It is definitely worth the time. I understand the hump as well, but the game gets going pretty quick. Although if stories are true, the new game is going to come right at you with a great first mission.

I never have that problem with sandbox or open world games. It's probably why they are my favorite genre and also why I have gotten into RPG's and dungeon crawlers as of late. The whole aspect of having so many open missions or "Tasks" to complete at any time and that 'Just one more mission" philosophy keeps me playing for hours on end.

If I finish the story in SR2, can I still go back and do everything else that needs to be done to get 100%?

edit: Any known glitches that may prevent you from getting something once the game is over?

Sure you can. No known glitches that I can remember.

Not sure if I will actually get it accomplished but it seems doable. From reading msg boards 100% isn't really 100%....some things the game lets you do, such as Hostage Diversions isn't required. I'm on my 2nd Hitman list and had to use Youtube for 1 person on each list. There is one that says I need to have 5 stars to get some FBI agent Police Chief Troy wants killed....I can't get it above 4.

I remember finding some of the cars for the chop shop being a pain in the ass too. I think I gave up on those because I was driving around for hours and couldn't find them, even with a guide.

Just finished the hitman lists and looked online to see what needed to be done to get infinite ammo. I was able to do the ativities needed and have unlimited pistol, smg, rifle, and shotgun ammo. I read you need to do a DLC activity to get unlimited special weapons (rocket launcher), so I wont be getting those. Right now I think I'm 71% finished...in the middle of the Ultor storyline.

Took me forever to realize the cars on the chop list show up on the map

Finished the storyline but I had to bump it down to Casual at the 2nd to last mission because it was kicking my ass (tried over 15 times straight). I actually beat it by luck...I killed the target before he was able to leave. Story ending was o.k....now I'm trying to get 100% on it, I'm at around 74% now.

edit: I did have to look online to find out where to find the 42nd mission.

I loved the first Saints Row. The trailers for this one look great. Might have to pick this up.
