It was pretty much a certainty that the Battlefield 3 multiplayer component would contain a significant amount of content. And whether you like it or not you're about to get every single fact that you can think of crammed down your throat. DICE issued a press release today that drops all the details about the game (aside from MP map names). This means every weapon, vehicle, mode, and progression detail is outed in the release. Armed with the new Frostbite™ 2 game engine and more than a decade of multiplayer expertise, the award-winning team at DICE is set to deliver their biggest and most accessible First Person Shooter (FPS) ever this October with Battlefield 3.
Frostbite 2 advances the state of the art, and serves as the power center that allows Battlefield 3 to deliver superior performance in character animation, visual rendering, audio and physical destruction. Battlefield 3 is the only FPS in the marketplace using Frostbite 2, and the only shooter capable of making the gameplay experience feel alive with all the sights, sounds and action of real-world incursions.
The new engine allows for massive multiplayer maps that move seamlessly between tight infantry combat to the series' signature open, sandbox vehicle warfare. Each map features a variety of environments demanding players to constantly re-evaluate the best combat tactics to deploy in order to win.

This is like a massive middle finger to COD and what I love about the Dice guys. Fuck holding shit back, you want people to really want your game, tell them what they are going to be getting with it. And it is even better when they are beating COD out by 2 weeks, so I could honestly see huge sales drops with MW3 if BF3 is as insane as it looks.All you need to know when thinking of the NHL vs Madden series is the two people involved in making the games.

Agreed.......I'm definitely in the Battlefield camp now. They have tons of vehicles, you can blow the hell out of buildings.....just seems much more realistic than Call of Duty. I'll be honest, my favorite game was World at War, right until they took the tanks out of hardcore. After that, I lost interest, not just in that game, but COD as a whole.
Even though I sometimes despise Halo, Reach has been a refreshing game for me, because of their vehicle play. I've missed that since all I've played was COD over the past couple years.Comment

Tank sprees were great in World at War, until people complained and had them take it out of hardcore matches. It was pretty damn easy to take a tank down too, so I don't know what the complaints were about.Originally posted by InfluenceComment

Brought up a discussion with some of my friends the other day about which FPS are you buying this fall. Of course they all said CoD and really didn't know anything BF3. I'm hoping BF puts out a sick marketing campaign leading up to the release and knocks some sense into people.Comment
