The first details about the Aftermath DLC have been released.

Set amongst the shattered districts, streets and surrounding villages of a post-earthquake Tehran Battlefield 3™: Aftermath depicts a continuing struggle for supremacy and survival amongst the devastation.

With operational capacity severely compromised the opposing forces must adapt and engage in vertical and horizontal urban combat amongst the dust and rubble with cracks and fissures in the terrain providing unexpected cover and paths to objectives. Additional support comes in the form of heavily modified troop transports and civilian vehicles specially adapted to deliver deadly force to the enemy.

It'll consist of four maps with more Assignments and vehicles.

I look at that map and think, "Being a console player, I won't see half of that."

Also, knowing coming in that if I'm on the Russian side and spawned in late during a match, percentage-wise I'm boned.

Spawn-camping going to be an issue for a LOT of people starting out.

The base camping stuff sounds concerning. However, I think it'll be fine on consoles with five vehicles per side which will allow for two man crews in each. This mode also seems like it'll be good to have a couple of recon throw down SOFLAMs and get some laser designations going.

Unless you have some people looking for shiny new buttons to add to their collection, I'm not seeing it happen any time soon.

I will. It's a long road to 300 laser designation assists.

Battlefield 3 Premium Edition announced to hit stores September 11th for $70. A bit more Armored Kill footage starts at about 45 seconds in followed by a glimpse at one of the Aftermath maps.

I've pretty much stopped playing this game.

Close quarters might have been the worst DLC they've ever came out with.

Forgot to add that Armored Kill will be available for PS3 Premium members starting September 4th. Aftermath is expected to release in December.
