They tweaked too much with this game and fucked it up.

Last year was a great representation of baseball, this year is just a excercise in frustation, where instead of trying to read the pitch and do something with the ball, the goal has become to just pray you make contact.

I still like the game, but it isnt nearly as fun. Pitching is too easy, hitting just sucks. If last year was a 100, this year is a 60. Meh.

I simply dont understand why they insist on fixing things that arent broken. Petition for updated rosters in MLB10.

i have a different opinion. that HR burrell hit was timed late and i didnt catch it with the PCI. sometimes your gonna have that happen. it was one hit out of 16.

It was one hit out of 16, and a huge hit. I dont think its too much to ask that you dont make contact on a pitch that you dont hit. Obviously it was timeed late, but you missed the ball. How can contact be made when you missed it? There is no point to zone batting if you can hit a ball that is in a zone that you arent aiming for. Im not opposed to Vet hitting yet, but I cant say I like it. I remember in 09, you didnt even need to aim for a pitch, you were better off just leaving the PCI right in the middle and timing it. I hope its not that way on Vet again this year.

Oh, and why do the fielders feel like they are running in quicksand? Again, aside from out of position players fielding any position well, what was wrong with the fielding last year? Nothing.

Personally, i'm down on the game and I dont think any settings can correct this shit. I'll play whatever you guys choose, and just bitch all year.

Maybe Vet hitting with reduced timing/contact sliders. idk, but we should never see any hit (especially a HR) on a ball that wasnt contacted. Thats like playing a basketball game and being ok with someone getting points for a shot that didnt go in every once in a while.

the PCI missed. the bat didnt. even on replay it looked like he made perfect contact. i dont understand why guys are looking at one or 2 things instead of the overall picture. a 2 run home run in a game where i had 16 hits and 10 runs is nothing. what about the other 8 runs and 15 hits?

u do understand why u lost? it has nothing to do with vet hitting. its bad play...period

i cant even make a fair assessment of the level because i have not had anyone challenge me on these settings. even the 5 run inning u had was a fluke. i took my starter out who was dominating and went to 99% fastballs.

making excuses is annoying. at one point in the 5th u took 8 balls out of 60 total pitches. and u would think after your starter gives up 6 in the 1st u might at least get someone up

What I dont understand is why you are so defensive of these settings. That is much more annoying than "making excuses". There is no need to make excuses in a game that doesnt matter, AND if you recall i pointed out that I did the same thing and got hits out of it when I shouldnt have. Of course the 5 run inning I had was a fluke. that HAS to be your response. You know what I did in that 5 run inning? I stopped using zone batting. I just left the PCI in the middle and timed pitches.

Anyone that was ok with Allstar will tell you that there is a speed difference on Vet. You play primarily on vet hitting, and the only games that I have played on vet were against you. You are going to win those games unless I stop playing on allstar in all of my other games, and Im ok with that. Once we get league settings decided on, thats what Ill play on.

You can say whatever you want about my bad play, and the fact that I left Porcello in after he gave up 6 runs. He settled down and held you scoreless for the rest of the time he was in. It was a gamble that worked out for me. It was Zumaya that killed me. I wish I had stuck with Porcello longer if anything. Im assuming you dont know much about the Tigers, but I can tell you middle relief is not their strong point. I wanted to stay away from putting Schlereth in if I could. Also I want to point out that I struck out 15 times, you struck out 14 times. So I guess I wasnt much worse than you at taking pitches eh?

It was a 2 Run HR that you didnt make contact on in a tie game. Dont flatter yourself into thinking that you had that game in the bag before that. BTW, if 'making excuses' was my goal, i would have commented on the lag. Im sure you noticed the fielding issues i was having due to input lag.

Just because I dont like these settings does not mean Im 'making excuses'. Im here to give my input, stop whining just because we disagree.

offline doesnt need vet hitting. online has something going on that isnt right

Yea, anything online for the ps3 is going to have its flaws.

I hardly ever play offline so I just threw it on those settings to see how things went...i'll bump it to AS and post results soon.

hopefully I will be on tonight(after midnight EST) for a game with one of you bastids
