All done the single player. I think the best way to describe this game is 'charming'. The humour is impeccable, Stephen Merchant is perfect, GLAdOS makes you empathize with her while at the same time hating her.

There is literally nothing I would change about this game. My Steam clock says 7 hrs, and I would say this is some of the best 7 hrs I have ever spent gaming. Two or three puzzles slowed me down, but on the whole, it has bumped Portal 1 down a slot on my best games of all time list.

I really don't know how Valve does it. They are the best for a reason. The way they flesh out the side characters makes me empathize more with Chell. She never says a word, but I feel like I know her.

Which brings me to a sidepoint. On the PC Gamer Podcast 3-4 weeks ago, they had a discussion about whether or not Gordon Freeman was the best protagonist ever. The con side used the fact he never said anything and is essentially and empty shell as their argument. The pro side said basically the same thing, but argued that it's because he is an empty shell, you are able to put your own emotions and feelings in to the character. You're not feeling what you're told to feel (ala Call of Duty), you're feeling what you feel as a person. I have to say I found myself feeling the same way in this game. At some point, you come to empathize with Chell, and just want her to escape.

Next bit in spoilers, regarding the end game

I think that is why I enjoyed the end of the game so much. Not just the silliness of a bunch of turrets forming an orchestra, but the 4 seconds of Chell emerging on to a sunny farmland. That alone is enough to pull my heart strings, but throwing in a charred companion cube? Fantastic. The companion cube developed a personality of it's own through Portal 1, and the way the community adopted it. The idea that Chell and her only friend the Companion Cube are slowly roaming a future world where the skies are always blue is the perfect way to end the game

The first one is pretty short, but it was interesting to see what they did with what started as a school project.

              And this run is ridiculous.

Just to clarify, if I want to sell my roommate my Steam copy by just putting is steam account name on my PSN, will that negatively affect me at all?

i.e. permanently linking my PSN name to his Steam or something like that?

I'm not sure if the link is permanent, but you don't have to sign in to Steam whenever you play singleplayer. However, you might need to sign in for online co-op. I don't know whether that's the case though since PSN went down before I could try it.

Aside from that, the only problem you may have is down the road when Valve releases another title on the consoles.

I was finally able to start playing yesterday...it's been said before but the puzzles aren't THAT incredibly challenging, definitely having fun so far.

Yeah, I think I thought about it and I can't think of anything wrong with him signing in with his PSN and just using the code through that, my Steam and PSN accounts would both still be unlinked.

I feel a little dumb I didn't think of that before lol.

Some of these easter eggs in the game are awesome. Be sure to take some time and look around for some of these. They're worth it IMO.

And I think the Developer's Commentary is worth a go as well. It's very interesting to hear why some of the level designs were chosen and Valve's philosophy on making games.

Portal 2 DLC is expected this summer. No details on whether it's more test chambers or crap like hats.

Portal 2 DLC is on the way, perhaps this Summer. Valve's VP of marketing, and all-round gatekeeper of information, Doug…

Valve introduced hats in Team Fortress 2. It's essentially a virtual marketplace where you pay for items to customize your character. In Portal 2's case, you can customize your co-op bots on the PC version with items bought from the store. I don't know if they'd bring hats to the consoles with this DLC.
