Finally fired this up last night after getting it for $10 (thank you Best Buy) sometime last fall. They throw a lot at you very quickly in the tutorial and that was a bit overwhelming, but once I got a couple hours in, it really started to pull me in. Just got done with the flash backs in the prologue and I'm through that very first part of chapter 1 when you're in the forest and come across the archers. Can't wait to fire this up again today Oh, and I also received my Witcher 3 Game Informer yesterday.

Yeah I suppose. Although I'm sure I would have run across that on CAG.

You really need to play this game. Lots of fun and the story really pulls you in.

So I'm in Flotsam right now (beginning of Ch. 1). Have to go meet Loredo at dusk but first I decided to take on this whole Kayran problem that they're having in the port. Currently learning about the beast and gathering what I need before the big fight. Mother fuck this game is fun.

This Kayran monster is a real pain in the ass until you realize its pattern.

I refused to reload a past checkpoint. I tried a a few different strategies, but none of them really worked. I finally got him with Aard then light attack, heavy attack, light attack. Then rinse and repeat. Every so often he'd fire off something that I'd have to dodge, but as long as I didn't let him get his shield up, I was finally able to beat him. Really pissed me off when I'd try to dodge his sword swings early on and he'd somehow miraculously hit me.

Got some pretty decent stuff at the Kaedweni Camp when I arrived. Had Kaedweni steel sword and a robust red meteorite silver sword made, which were both quite a bit better than what I came with from chapter 1. Also killed Traut and got Seltkirk's armor, which looks pretty badass. Time to go fight in this tournament now.

EDIT: While doing some exploring I ran across a cave system. Down one of the paths I ran into this big dude (can't remember his name) and I beat him and found some pretty awesome armor (+16), it's the Armor of Ban Ard.

i stopped at chapter 2. the game is to story driven for my taste. the story never grabbed me so thats always a problem in a game like this
